Has anyone questioned their treatment options.? or gone the route of supplements like soursop?

I often wonder why there is not more research into natural remedies considering most of what we are offered does quite a lot of damage! Of course, there is no reason to cure people when you can continue to make money from them. Modern medicine is a business not a remedy.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of evidence in favour of most, but some foods and supplements often used by people are listed here - https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/prostate-cancer/practical-emotional-support/food-controversies-supplements

But can't the same be said of businesses that con folk with false promises of curing them with 'magic potions'?

I think modern medicine is incredible. It's the main reason why most of us are now living a lot longer than we used to.

Only this morning, I reported nine posts made by the same 'newcomer' extolling the virtues of herbal remedies and adding a link to a dodgy doctor's site. As they have all now been deleted, I assume the moderators also disapproved of the mumbo jumbo.

I would never offer any links to anything! There will always be tin foil hatters out there but never close yourself off without doing research. I hate the way some people exploit us to try and make money! it's despicable. If we are not open to new ideas there would be no treatment at all! Find what works for you is all I'm saying. there are treatments out there now that were considered lethal some years ago but are now mainstream. Health and profit should never be in the same box!

Not all hospitals can offer all treatments, so generally only offer the ones they do. They will tell you what they can offer you after your full diagnosis. (Scans can sometimes show suspicious areas) Diet and supplement possibilities have been raised on this forum from time to time but by the time you are diagnosed with PCa, are not a proven alternative to recognised medical treatments.

Cancer treatments are tried and tested there’s constant research. Conspiracy theorists pushing anti parasitic drugs and snake oil cause fear for those already struggling.

I’m all for looking at good overall health whilst going through treatment and supplements that support that but it’s the snake oil pushers I find exploitative not treatments based on science and decades of results.
