Hello, mate.
Welcome to the forum.
The figures on regaining continence and recovering from erectile dysfunction seem high.
I've read many research papers on incontinence and ED after RARP. They all vary. It depends on how continence is defined and how an erection is defined. Results also depend on the size of the sample of patients used and who operated on them.
I've seen very good results when the sample size is small and the patients have all been operated on by the same very skilled surgeon.
Here is a link to a paper which has reviewed many research results on post-prostatectomy incontinence
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9917389/
In it, it states:
Several studies report a progressive return of continence up to one year after RP, with a continence rate ranging from 68 to 97% at 12 months
This is just one example of their findings, which show how much results can vary.
The research I've done leads me to believe that on average about 25% of men are fully continent within a month of the catheter being removed, about 65% are fully continent after 6 months and about 80% are fully continent after a year.
I'm not even going into ED recovery rates because they vary even more.
