Pelvic floor exercises. What worked for you?

Since having catheter out 2 months ago, I've been doing the pelvic floor exercises using the Squeezy app. 10 long + 10 quick , each session. Aiming for 3 times a day. Although I do occasionally forget.

How does this compare to the amount others have been doing and have found successful in moving towards being dry.

Do you do both the long and quick? Or just one or the other? How many? And how often?

I've read that you have to be careful not to do too many. But I'm keen to hear what type and how many / how often , has worked for others , as I'm not seeing much improvement as the weeks go by.

Hi Manncubdad

Post catheter removal I started with 3 sets of 10 ,long and short .After 12 weeks my surgeon increased me to 6 sets per day .

My continence progress was slow but steady and after 6 months I was finally continent and no longer needed pads.I am now 10 months post surgery and am doing between 3 to 6 sets per day .I found some you tube videos were helpful in doing the pelvic floor exercises correctly as well as the squeezy app.I occasionally tested my squeezing technique by trying to stop myself "peeing",if you are doing it correctly you will stop the flow ( my surgeon did warn me not to do it too often).Good luck and don't get too despondant if things don't improve as quickly as you would like ,but the exercises really do work 👍

Thanks Swannie

Thanks for the advice.

I think I'll up my sessions to every 2 hours from after breakfast 👍

So I also used the squeeze app. Long and short sets. I was doing these 3 times a day. When I mentioned this to my assigned clinical nurse she sounded horrified and advised 6 times a day. I did as I was told!
