Vacuum Pump question

4 months post salvage RALP - awaiting ED clinic appointment - it could be a while 😕 !

Ive just bought myself a bathmate to try to get some life back into my penis after 4 months of complete dormancy. Its great - very easy to use. I dont get anywhere near a full erection with it yet but it is very early days - two days in and my old boy grows about two inches longer in the tube but I'm sure that will improve with time and to be honest I only got it to exercise the muscle and as a stop gap before I get clinic advice on something more suited to sexual use. While I was sitting in the bath using the pump it occurred to me that vacuum pumps are basically getting blood flow into the penis and I wondered if using sildenafil or tadalafil alongside any pump would enhance the vacuum effect as they both encourage that blood flow. Anyone use ED medication and a pump together or is this a silly idea ?

Hello Zero1,

I don't think it can hurt, I was prescribed Tadalafil and a pump on the NHS. I went the HT/EBRT route rather than surgery though

Hi ZER 1

Drugs like sildenafil are prescribed to improve blood flow. However vacuum pumps are a lot more effective in my experience. Also for regaining the length of the penis a pump is excellent. Since I suffer from ED following prostatectomy we have been relying on medical grade pumps (SOMAerect, NHS prescribed and PREMus) for the past 15 years. A VED is ideal for creating reliable and strong erections if the other methods don't suit you. Of course VEDs have no side effects but some men can't get used to using them.
