Post HIFU Stimulation

Just wondering if anyone else experienced this....

I had HIFU 2 weeks ago.  They did half my right half of my prostate.  I was very concerned about getting hard and what my solo/partnered sex life would be like post procedure.  To my surprise the day after the procedure I woke up with a pretty good stiffy.  It was a bit shocking and kinda painful due to the catheter.  10 days later the catheter was removed and I was put on a 5mg dose of Tadalifil.  The very next day I woke up with a RAGING hard on.  I really wanted to make good use of it, if you get my drift but I was advised not to masturbate or have sex until I was cleared by the Urologist.  To add insult to injury for some reason I seem to be extremely horny since the procedure.  It's now been 6 days of rock hard erections and a lot of sexual frustration.  I did edge a bit but it only made it worse since I didn't want to take myself to orgasm as I am a bit scared since the advice of the doctor was to not engage in masturbation/sex and to specially not ejaculate.

I have read through a ton of the forum but haven't found anything regarding this and haven't really seen many posts about HIFU experiences.  I guess I was curious if anyone had anything like this happen and also how soon after HIFU did you try masturbating as well as how soon after procedure did you orgasm.  Im so frustrated and just want to release!!

You're sexually frustrated! I've not had a rock hard erection for three years! ☹️

I, in no way posted my inquiry to upset anyone.  It was simply to see if what other experience was.  I'm in me late 40s and the erections each day have gotten gradually harder as well as length of time.  This mornings lasted close to 3 1/2 hours and was pretty painful.  Thus my concern.  As a side note, I am very sorry your soldier hasn't stood at attention in 3 years.

Hi,

That does seem a very long time, any longer and I think you should be visiting A+E!

I'd stop taking the tadalafil if you are still using it. It doesn't seem you have any issues with getting an erection and this could be why they're lasting so long.

tadalafil can stay in your system for up to 36 hours (unlike viagra) so you'll be slowly increasing the amount in your body if you're taking it daily

All the best

John

Hi Kev.

Welcome to the forum, mate.

I was only joking, mate. Sometimes it's difficult to be humourous on here.

Your question didn't upset me, just turned me green with envy. 😁

Unfortunately, by the time I had HIFU for failed radiation, that prior treatment had already gradually led to ED. But I am aware from my research on Focal Therapy (which I had twice), the objective is to maintain function by only treating significant tumours in the Prostate, so men are much less likely to suffer from ED if this was not a problem before. It may well be that in your case you do not require chemical stimulation. I don't think that burning out part of your Prostate by Ultra Sound is in itself responsible for your maintaining a 'hard'

So I got a response for the urologist.  Apparently they gave me the wrong dosage of Tadalifil.  Once it was lowered and I was off the higher dose, those long painful erection have subsided.  Thank goodness!!!

eeek! what dosage were you on? if you were taking more than 5mg daily I can see why you had such a problem.

Have to say, still a little jealous of your issue! 🤣

Glad it's sorted

All the best

John
