First PSA after ADT

Husband had his first injection of Decapeptyl on 9th December and has a blood test at GPs on 31st December. He then has a appointment with consultant on 6th January.  His last PSA was 6 something so not mega high despite being G8. I'm just hoping that is long enough for it to have come down. They then have planned for Apalutamide before radiotherapy.

He hasn't had any hot flushes yet. It's only been 9 days so I think they may come a bit later.

Antoinette, I would not get too concerned with the value of the results in the next few weeks. I am on a different path but my PSA came down from over 13 to 0.89 within a couple of months after starting injections. A few months after starting on apalutamide my PSA is less than 0.03. I don't have a prostate and I have had lots of RT.

Thanks Chris

Hi,

It was about two and half months after starting ADT that I had another PSA test. It was down from 7.6 to <0.1 (undetectable). I wouldn't think after a month your husbands will have totally bottomed out.

I reckon it was probably around a month before I noticed any side effects

All the best

John
