After an overwhelming first appointment with a rather brusque nurse, with a sidekick watching us, who I suspect was training, I left feeling totally unsupported. Since then I have found the best support possible: my own brain and commonsense, and this forum, and website.
Since then we have moved on considerably. Bought a pump, seen GP , been prescribed Sildenafil and generally discovered our own path to a positive attitude.
I have also found an interesting document on how health professionals should be approaching this problem. On this website. Very helpful indeed
The Title is this:
"Treating erectile dysfunction after radical
radiotherapy and androgen deprivation
therapy (ADT) for
prostate cancer
A quick guide for health professionals:
supporting men with erectile dysfunction"
It states treatment should be started no later than 3 to 6 months after ADT begins.
