skin infection and incontinence

Hi,

I had my prostate out a year ago. I am now left with a small amount of incontinence, a seepage. I`m on a waiting list for the skin infection and a referral for the incontinence. I have tried Dermol, Daktac Hydrocotisone, Fucibet, Clobaderm, Medi Derma S Barrier Cream and Daktarin Medicated talc for fungal infections. My GP says there is nothing else he can do for me and told me to wait for my referral. If there is anyone who`s had similar problems and can give me any suggestions I`d be very grateful.

I had a nasty fungal infection back of both legs (popliteal fossa). GP prescribed Clotrimazole (1%) but didn't work, then prescribed Daktacort (2%) but didn't work. So I took matters into my own hands, and with a bit of research bought a topical steroid cream (Betamethasone) and used daily for 5 days. It's almost gone now.

I would have paid for a private Dermatologist consultation, but they were booked up so far out in time I couldn't wait.

Have you fully recovered now, and have you experienced any side effects?

I had similar skin flareups and the only thing that eased the soreness was keeping the area dry with a soft cloth and switching to a gentle barrier cream while the infection treatment did its job. I also checked ameliorate reviews to see how others handled irritation from constant moisture, which gave me a few tricks to try. While you’re waiting to be seen, even tiny tweaks in routine can take the edge off.
