Hi All
Diagnosed today I am 62. Gleason 3+4 .
I had a Psa only slightly raised .. 5.2 then an MRI a week later which showed 2 areas of concern .
The Transperinal fun followed (not to bad I found the Probe quite a shock though.) Results from 20 cores are 5 positive . Had the phone call today which was what I thought it would be, but still a bit of a shock. I know that i am lucky with these numbers and also lucky that I had it picked up from my GP. Shows screening should be more available to all men of a certain age. I am relitavely fit and work as a builder.
I have a Consultant appointment on the 27th at the Churchill in Oxford (good hospital I think)
I was told that my treatment options are:
Active Surveilance (not keen)
Key hole prosectomy (told the cancer is in the middle of the prostate so should be nerve spring.)
Hormone and radiation.
Sabr (anyone had this ? sound better than ht and radio.)
Need to get educated
Many thanks
Mick
