Holiday insurance amendment

After my husband's appointment at the Churchill and discussing with the oncologist a booked holiday in June, he saw no reason to cancel. He said  David could have the pre RT scan before we go, and start the RT when we get back. The holiday is only 12 nights to Iceland.

He will also have his Decapeptyl injection 2 days late, which has been cleared as fine too.

We are insured with Insure and Go and just rang up to amend his policy. We were expecting a lot of fuss etc not to mention cost.

Absolutely straightforward,  no problems at all. Highly efficient person on the other end of the phone. It has cost £166 to upgrade his insurance , and all being OK, we're OK for the holiday we thought we might not be able to go on. This does seem a reasonable company to deal with.

Thanks for this, Antoinette. It's become an issue for us as we've had annual travel insurance through an M & S Credit Card for years.

When I was diagnosed and opted for surgery, I was charged 100 pounds for one year an excess to cover anything related to PC. When it was due for renewal, I called the underwriters and, after going through all the questions, was told there wouldn't be any charge this time. About 4/5 weeks later, my PSA came back at 0.2 and I was heading for RT. This time on calling the underwriters, I was told they wouldn't cover my PC but everything else in our joint insurance was good.

M & S stopped taking on new entrants a while ago and we've just heard that the whole scheme will end on March 26 so we will be looking for new insurers.

On March 26, we will be in Bhutan but, fair play to the underwriters, AVIVA, they have assured us that we will be covered as we were insured when the trip was booked.

A message there for all travellers.
