Struggling with consultant

My husband was diagnosed just over a year ago.  He was given chemo and then put on chemo tablets.  In November he started to experience pain in his legs and its got steadily worse. He has Bisphonates at our local hospice and they've been amazing.  They have now prescribed him morphine tablets, liquid morphine and gabapantine.  But the pain is unbearable and he can't sit let alone walk.  He had a blood test about 6 weeks ago but the hospital can't find the results.  My husband has only spoken to the consultant once in the last year and there is no dedicated nurse.  We want to find out what's going on but his Consultant's secretary just said they have over 800 patients and we have to wait.  Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Every hospital has a PALS service. The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) offers confidential advice, support and information on health-related matters. They provide a point of contact for patients, their families and their carers. Especially if not satisfied with the service you are receiving. They can often cut through barriers to getting the information you want.

Search for nhs pals and there will be links to the service and to find your nearest one.
