Kidney ache

Hi

im 61 yrs old with low PSA but with an enlarged prostate which gives me very bad  flow when peeing. I’ve been on tamsulosin for 4/5yrs. Docs just put me on finasteride. But for the last 6 months I’ve had really bad aching kidneys. Both ache in the morning. Sometimes it’s the left one sometimes the right one. I only seem to get it in the morning. Doc said it’s not my kidneys. I’m convinced it is as I get some kind of back flow issue maybe. Is anyone else experiencing the same and what’s been your diagnosis?

Fitch, I have CKD3, so my kidneys are not fully working. I do get kidney aches with a water infection. I also have a suprapubic catheter which sometimes gets blocked and that can also cause pain in the kidneys. When flushing the catheter I have managed to push urine back into the kidneys, that is not an ache it is an excruciating pain.

Thanks Chris

Thanks Chris for replying. Much appreciated.
sounds like you’re properly going through it. Sorry to hear that.
I’ve a docs appointment tomorrow so I’ll see what the verdict is.  I think I get some kind of back flow in the mornings from a full bladder but no one knows how to prove this. It’s frustrating. But my pain is not as bad as yours so maybe it’s something else.
