So yesterday saw catheter coming out day, actually coming out was the easy bit. However, the bladder didn’t like it and after going a little bit haywire, Drs put a new catheter in. CT scan and bloods all clear. I’m wondering has anyone else experienced this and with the catheter back for two weeks I’m wondering what the 2nd attempt will bring

Kab ,were you hydrated before you got to the hospital. The other thing to remember is to relax. I had 13 catheter removals over a three period and never needed to have a catheter refitted. Hope all goes well next time. What does haywire mean.

Thanks Chris

Must be a north east saying meaning a bit crazy, temperature dropped to 34 got the shakes and severe flank pain in both sides. Catheter back in and CT scan and bloods all clear. Suggestion is my bladder didn’t kick back into gear, all being well a further 3 weeks will help it

Kab, I understood haywire 🙂,but was looking for details of what happened, which you kindly provided. How long after removal did the symptoms start. How much urine came out when the new catheter was inserted.

Thanks Chris

Within 15m penile/scrotum ache, a couple of cups of water and within a further 15m left flank pain. Catheter going back saw 300ml come out.
