My dad recently had a PET scan.  Does anyone know if the patients Know Best App would just put bad news etc in this way or would they telephone to discuss first?

We have just received notification from this app today but I really don’t want to open it as I have no one to telephone as it is Saturday.  I am concerned to open it in case i need clarification or more information.

Doubt it will  be on the app until sometime after they have discussed it with you. Eventually you may (as I did) get a text summary report on the app - not any actual scan images.

It might say as mine did,  "result will be available on "a certain date" usually a month or so later , after you have the result from them via other contact.

Jacqueline, with a PSA of 0.02 in January, what prompted the pet scan . Was it a PSMA pet scan. Chances are the PKB may just say you have a result.  Despite spreading to numerous lymph nodes my consultant this week again said, no point of scan with a a PSA of 0.03.

Thanks Chris.

Yes it was a PMSA PET scan.  It was done because retroperiteal lymph node was 1.1cm.

Jacqueline, thanks for the reply. Interesting how different doctors have different approaches to treating us. Sounds like his oncologist is on the ball.

Thanks Chris

So what is your consultant suggesting to do for you?

Jacqueline, despite there being known spread,he says as long as the PSA is low ,just keep taking the tablets, no need for scans. Even though I have had some pain in the area of the suspicious supraclavicular lymph node he says it isn't going to be caused by the cancer, no further investigation is required.

Thanks Chris
