doublet therapy

Hi All - Have decided to forgo chemo even though stage 4 metastatic and oncologist recommending it.  Chemo just seems totally counter intuitive. Why would I want to basically poison my immune system and feel totally miserable and depressed for weeks on end for maybe a few months of extra life down the line? I have no symptoms and feel totally well and have done prior to diagnosis and since. Apparently more and more men of a certain age (75 plus) are now opting for doublet therapy ie LHRH monthly injections and DaroluItimide and chemo later if needed. My decision to choose quality of life over length of life feels very empowering but I realise its not for everyone. My oncologist will no doubt roll her eyes at me but it's supposed to be a decision that she should respect? I'll let you know! Dave

Very sensible. Only you know what your priorities are in life, not the oncologist. As long as your choice is informed by the best information you have available, then it is impossible to argue against.
