If you decide to opt for brachytherapy, there are a lot of lads on here that have experience of that treatment.

Please keep us updated. 👍

Good luck, mate

Hello Bob,

Sorry you find yourself here and that your wife is suffering from dementia, my mum has advanced dementia, it is a terrible disease.

I took the HDR Brachytherapy and EBRT route (15 sessions) and found it manageable, there was increase tiredness but I was able to work throughout. So other than the time spend at hospital for treatment it was ok. the EBRT sessions took about 1.5hrs including travel, luckily I'm only about 15mins away. Brachytherapy was a day procedure under general anaesthetic, I went in at 7am and home by about 1:30pm. I did need someone to collect me due to the anaesthetic. I did take it easy for the next couple of days.

As to Hormone therapy, I've found it not too bad, however it can affect people very differently, it does kinda slowly grind you down. I'm 21 months in on a total of 24

All the best for what ever treatment you choose, its worth asking about all options just so you have a full picture of what's available.

John
