Husband has just bought a weight training bench and a few beginners weights. He's motivated and walks a dog 4 days a week so he's planning on training the other 3.

Does anyone know of a good basic YouTube video or similar he could follow please? He's fit and very active , not overweight and 74

Hi Francij 1 thank you for this! We're just looking at them together in bed with a cup of tea! His weight bench is arriving today and weights tomorrow. His doggy friend is on holiday for a week so we went for a walk last evening. But I can't run so fast, and I'm useless at bringing the ball back !

Hi Folks

Just thought I would chip in - I have today received an email from PureGym giving me a years gym membership! I filled in form online a few weeks back - I cannot recall where though? (HT and Chemo brain I am afraid....)Was it the PCUK site or the Macmillan site, or a link from them?  I do recall that PureGym were offering this by way of support to cancer patients to aid recovery - and I have a recollection that one of the London Hospitals had organised it with them. I think the application went into them and then they passed it on to PureGym...

So I am going to set up the introduction session and then try and attend as diligently as I can.  I have weights, resistance bands and static bike at home as well but I thought that a proper gym session might be beneficial to work other parts of the body.   I need to get rid of my chemo-belly and get into some of the trousers I am having trouble doing up!! (GP chasing me up as I am pre-type 2 diabetic according to latest A1c bloods - but I am going to see my GP to discuss the effects of all of my current cancer meds feeding into this).

Keep up the good work!!

Best wishes - stay positive
