Radiation after RALP and Perineum discomfort

Hi all, has anyone had radiation therapy after RALP? Also, has anyone found solution for perineum discomfort even 3 months post operation. Always the feeling of heaviness down there when I am standing or sitting like I have to go to the bathroom for bowel. In two months I start radiotherapy so I would love to resolve this before that. Any experience welcome!

It is very rare for men to get prostate cancer at 30. Could you give us some more details of you journey.

Thanks Chris

Oh I am sorry I didn’t precise. I am writing on behalf of my dad since he isn’t familiar with this Internet forums. He is 69 years old. He just had RALP but due to 3 remaining lymph nodes he will have to undergo radiotherapy in September. Currently he is receiving hormone therapy to lower psa before radiation.

Probably a question for his urologist if it's still debilitating 3 months post op. If it's "just a niggle" probably still healing and will hopefully resolve itself.

I agree. 3 months after surgery (I was 63) things hadn't come back to normal.

People get misled by the small incisions needed for robotic surgery. It is major surgery and takes a long time to recovery.
