An up date on my initial 3rd June diagnosis of Gleason 9. T3. Cambridge 5. Cribriform growth pattern.
I am two weeks into hormone therapy having had the tablets followed by Prostap injection. I have had ultrasound scans, MRI, CT and bone scans and have been terrified of the results. I have lost weight and my mind has been in utter confusion.
Today the urology nurse rang. All my scans are clear... I could hardly speak. I am still in shock eight hours later.
I have a meeting with my consultant on the 25th August to discuss my treatment plan which the nurse told me will be four weeks of Monday to Friday radiotherapy sessions.
I am expecting that to be a rough ride and am nervous about the unpleasant side effects -- but I will not allow myself to go down that mental rat hole. I must always remember from now on my initial feeling of euphoria when told it hadn`t spread and remind myself how fortunate I am compared to many of you who have harder battles ahead....
Stay strong, my new friends...stay strong...
