Not sure if there's a topic for this but I want to share my experiences with travel insurance.
I'm sure there are plenty of horror stories out there. I tried getting an online annual cover renewal with Staysure (we've used them for years), but I was declined. I did manage to get cover for just a week at a price that was more than our previous annual policies.
Eventually we called Staysure and spoke to someone. Seems they will provide annual travel insurance but excluding anything associated with the cancer. This policy also excluded travel to certain coutries, including Greece. Guess what, we now want to go to Greece! Called Staysure again but they refused cover (wouldn't explain why).
However, we've come across another provider: Insurance With. Their story is that they were fed up getting the same run around that I've explained above, so they set up the company to help cancer patients. Don't get me wrong, they aren't cheap, but they are less expensive than Staysure and will cover most countries.
I was planning on just going away without insurance, but we now don't have to. My wife is a happier bunny now (so am I).
