One Year On, and going (sort of) strong

Today is the first anniversary of receiving the dreadful phone call from my GP to say that with a PSA of 953 I most likely had prostate cancer…

It has been a rollercoaster of a year, tests, biopsy, hormone therapy and chemotherapy. ( plus discovery of a hiatus hernia, anticipated surgery for an initial hernia, but mercifully my kidney stone has not played up!!)

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to this group and to those on other groups who have provided sage advice, comfort, counselling and lots of humour.

I am treatable but not curable but I intend to be around for a lot longer, so will continue to enjoy the exchanges on this forum.

My many thanks go to my family and to the medical staff at all levels who have supported me through the last 12 months.

I truly admire the resilience of you lads with this prognosis. I'm sure that I'd not cope as well.

Excellent News. Congratulations

I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2022.

Because of my age and heart failure plus I decided to refuse any. treatment and took natural medicine

Like Tinned Cooked Tomatoes for Lycopene

Rosemary supplements Romsarinic Acid (RA)

Plus other well established supplements

Sulfonate tabkets

Sage Leaf Tablets

1 month ago I requested some CT Scans as a check up.as my PSA was 20. All my 3 CT scans and an MRI scan came back with Nothing to be found I was amazed. Being a saved Christian helped as I always prayed deeply.. I am now just 80 years old and no Cancer Spread ever.

Welcome to the forum.

Without knowing your initial exact diagnosis, your first PSA, your Gleason score and cancer staging, it is very difficult to make comment.

However, I doubt that religion or diet will have contributed much to your clear scans.

I hope that you remain 'cancer free' and that you continue to get comfort from your belief, healthy food and supplements.

Great to see being a Christian and eating tomatoes increases your PSA from 5 to 15.

Did your oncologist agree that you had been cured?

Hi There

Well not everyone is a saved Christian

I am a Registered Nurse. Social Worker. Psychotherapist. It might suprise you that an Orthopedic Surgeon who fixed my Fractured Femur told me in January 2025 that I had Cancer. He was wrong. I expect he took my then PSA of 15 as the only source of Cancer?

Well after that I went and saw my Oncologist and requested some scans. Hence I complete Head to Toe Bone Scan and 3 CT scans just to be 100 per cent Sure All Scans showed nothing whatsoever

Well at just 80 this month , I won't worry about it.The Supplements which I researched are excellent. I have no doubt they help .

As far as God is concerned, I have a deep understanding of Christianity and Salvation

Very best wishes and I send my healing prayers to everyone who might just like them

My first PSA was 5 by the way

Dear Joseph27, it's really great that you are cancer-free. Maybe if you would like a thread related to your own particular journey you might consider to start a new thread instead of continuing in this one? This particular post is a thread started by CeePee and many of us will return to this to follow and support CeePee in his personal journey. @CeePee, as I face hard days, you and many others on here are my own personal source of inspiration to stay strong and I thank you once again as I try to steer this back to your original thread.

I mentioned on another thread this morning that I am beginning to feel a bit anxious about the forthcoming blood test and consultation- but I appreciate it is par for the course!!

Roll on 19 Aug when I will find out what the next stage is going to be….
