Hi everyone,
As we head towards the festive season, we’d love to hear your experiences of living with prostate cancer or going through treatment at this time of year. Whether you celebrate Christmas, another festival or mark the season in your own way, your experiences could help other men feel more prepared and less alone.
We’re particularly interested in any practical tips or reflections you’re happy to share, such as:
- How you prepared for side effects like incontinence when travelling or socialising more – for example, packing pads, disposal bags or a screw‑top container in case toilets were hard to find.
- How bowel changes affected your festive eating and drinking, for example, did you change what you ate, or avoid certain foods and drinks?
- Whether you needed to get extra medication or supplies to cover bank holidays or reduced clinic hours.
- If you were travelling more, whether you noticed any sanitary bins in male toilets at train or service stations as part of our Boys Need Bins campaign.
- How you approached work parties, family gatherings or other seasonal events while managing side effects.
- Anything else that came up for you – for example, sharing your diagnosis with relatives you don’t see often, or finding the season more isolating or emotionally complicated than usual.
Why are we asking?
We’re putting together a to help men navigate the festive period while living with prostate cancer or treatment side effects. Your experiences and tips can make a real difference.
