Do you balls hurt?

So a very quick ' my journey ". A year back aged 58, my balls ached on and off for a year or so. NHS doctors said I was fine and nothing to worry about. Saw a private doctor who within 3 mins diagnosed prostate cancer.

My bloods came back and I had a PSA of 167 which was a bit of a shock to say the least.

Initial prognosis from my surgeon was not good, stage 4 cancer, his exact words " well you won't make it to 100 will you " said with a nervous laugh.

Two months later and PET scan in hand it turned out to be not quite so bad.

30 days of radio therapy, and along with a bunch of other drugs I was put on Aberaterone for just over two years.

Im about 16 months in now.

So my question is my balls ache on and off but mainly on. Like Ive been kicked in the balls 5 minutes ago and still have that dull background ache. It's sometimes bad enough that I find myself really wincing with the pain and often wakes me up at night, alongside of course the crazy hot sweats.

Ive been back to another specialist and had more scans, but it's still the same. The best they can come up with is referred paid after my radio therapy but Ive had the pain for three years now.

Good news is my PSA is currently below 0.1. Hoping it stays that way after I'm off the drugs in another 11 months.

Anyone else suffering the same issues?

Thanks and hope this finds who ever reads it well.

Jason

I had something similar for years (maybe 10) on & off long before I was diagnosed with PCa.

Multiple visits to GPs/Hospital, several (painful) manual examinations, antibiotics, 2 Ultrasounds. They never found anything major other than a few cysts that weren't deemed to be a problem.

I was always suspicious that there was a twist or some "blockage". It was so painful at times it made me physically vomit.

Strangely it settled down before I got my PCa results. Everything I've read states the 2 are unrelated.

These days, at worst, I tend to have a feeling of mild pressure occassionally, like I need to ejaculate.

Hi Jason.

No. My balls don't hurt. However, I've found the whole prostate cancer thing, a ball-ache.

Joking apart, mate. Welcome to the forum. It's great to hear that you're making a good PCa recovery, but not so good you're having testicular pain. Before being diagnosed with PCa,  I had a couple of bouts of epididymitis. The non sexually transmitted type, I hasten to add. It caused the symptoms you describe.

I can't recall anyone posting about similar testicle pains. However, I remember one poor bloke once posting that his testicles had gone black. Which reminded me of this tale:

Following a very tricky prostatectomy, a man was lying in bed in hospital, wearing an oxygen mask. A nurse passes by and he calls out from behind the mask, "Nurse, are my testicles black?"

"I'm sorry, what did you say?" she replied.

Muffled by the mask he again says, "Nurse, can you please check. Are my testicles black?"

Concerned that he may be badly bruised, she raised his gown, gently cupped his testicles  and thoroughly eamined them. "There's nothing wrong with them, they look fine." she said.

The man, who had now become very frustated, pulled off his oxygen mask and said, "Thank you very much for that. Now, please listen very closely. Are my test results back?"

Sorry mate can't help you with your question. We used call that sort of pain blue balls in our teens and was self relieved.😅

I'm curious with your diagnosis though, sounds like your private doctor wasn't much better than the NHS.

What changed the diagnosis from Stage 4 to curable. How did they get it so wrong?
