Testosterone replacement.

After my prostatectomy on the 22nd of February 2022 I've had problems. At the end of the first year I had 33 days of radiotherapy and was put on zoladex, then at the end of 2024 I had another round of radiotherapy. The first round was targeted at the illiac nodes and the second sessions was to my para-aortic nodes, my psa is now 0.03 and my testosterone level is 0.09. My question is can I ask to have TRT? I finished zoladex 14 weeks ago and, thus far, not noticed any reduction in these awful side effects. The problems are sweats, sleep problems, brain fog, bad temper, non existent libido, muscle strength has gone and I have a very large tummy.

Any thoughts on what to do? T.I.A. Mervyn Reeves.

Hi, Merv.

I'm sorry to see that your struggling with treatment side effects, but welcome to the forum.

I'm afraid I cant help with your query, but I'm bumping it, because I seem to recall others on here have been in a similar predicament to you. Hopefully they'll reply.

Good luck, mate. 👍

I dont know about TRT. I was on Zoladex for 3 years (included in that 2 years abiraterone, ,prednisolone, enzalutimide on trial) having most/all side effects. If you were on Zoladex for a long time it takes a long time for the effects to fade then disappear. Its been said on the forum a number of times that it takes as long for the effects to go as you were on Zoladex. As I said I was on it for 3yrs, it may not have been quite as long as 3 years but certainly 2 I'd say, they did fade gradually although libido returned suddenly. They did go completely. I couldnt say if TRT is a risk for you.
