Thanks guys. Got the results of Wednesday's x-rays - doctor was surprised to find no evidence of bone mets in his thighs or pelvis. Pain killers seem to have kicked in now which is a relief and the CT scan has been booked for next Wednesday so hopeful of some answers soon.

CT scans yesterday - we haven't heard anything so still no diagnosis. Dad is sleeping more and more, we only have codeine & paracetamol so breakthrough pain is a problem and he is very constipated even with the movicol & suppositories. We have an appointment with the GP for next Tuesday when the results should be back (fingers crossed). On the up side, he got out of bed tonight and made himself some corned beef fritters!

You wouldn't treat a dog like this :-(

Best of luck. The waiting is just awful. Seems a long wait when he is in so much pain. Best wishes x

On Tuesday Dad's CRP had risen to 460; we managed to get him to the GP surgery and it was decided after a phone discussion with the hepatology dept that he should be admitted to hospital that afternoon. Well that didn't happen because they couldn't find him a bed - in the end they sent an ambulance about 9pm and took him to A&E for a few hours on a trolley, did all the tests again, threatened to send him back home before eventually moving him to a general ward. The silver cloud was that we managed to get the results of loads of the tests done over the last 4 weeks - no bone mets, no liver mets, pancreas clear, lungs clear, stomach clear.

ALP and ALT are still high. He is still very poorly but is no longer yellow - he has been moved to the care of the infectious diseases team who asked him about his sex life. Not sure I really wanted to know that he still takes his Caverject on the cruises with him (and uses them) 😂 They have no idea what is wrong but it isn't PCa related - thought any of you with low stable PSA would be relieved to know that lightning hasn't struck twice.

Thanks for all the support & love x

Glad it doesn’t seem to be cancer related. Hope it gets sorted soon

A conundrum you need sorted soon, he’s been through so much and so many tests that you’d think that someone might know by now.

Be strong Lyn.

Chris.

I hope they get to the bottom of this quickly Lyn and can sort it out

I can imagine the relief you all must feel with no mets. Let’s hope this is something that can treated quickly and your Dad can get back to his cruising and his caverject.

Good luck x

A relief that it isn’t cancer related. I hope they get to a point he can be treated and get back to cruising.

Lyn

It's probably  good to know what it isn't, but still frustrating not to know what it is. Hope you find an answer soon.

Thanks Chris

Thank goodness for the silver cloud Lyn.  Hope they find the cause soon and that your Dad is up and about again soon.

With best wishes, Ange

I'd guess he's in the best place to be for a short time.  All the best. Peter
