As always you did a brilliant job. Karen and I had a wonderful weekend full of laughter with amazing friends old and new.

At one point I laughed so hard and long I gave myself hiccups..oh alright I confess that might have been down to the wine.

An incredibly successful raffle, Lyn reading Chris B's poem (ha ha ha) and another very informative q and a session with Jamie. The buffet was really good again too lots of ad hoc additions and all round fun.

Have made sure my travels next year do not impinge on 18th June weekend.

I know Lyn expressed our thanks to you but I just wanted to say ydoolb good job George and thanks for everything.

Love you and your family for being so special

George

you are a such an inspiration, you organise this year after year and as they said in field of dreams "if you build it we will come." last year was my first venture into the world of MOTS, I had just lost Mick so my daughter Karen and I just needed to see everyone that had helped us through the most difficult 12 months. It was a wonderful tonic lots of laughter, some tears and for me the absolute icing on the cake was meeting Barrington Newman a.k.a. Topgun before he also sadly lost his last battle, the one with PCa.

I also have to say that Jamie is a natural star of your show, last year he improvised and still gave us all a huge aount of "food for thought" I truly understand why Si Si superman thinks he is the bees knees.

I get a little bit stressed organising a handful of us for Newark get togethers so bringing probably over 100 people together across 2 days is amazing and to do this twice every year with the flyer and MOTS and all this whilst dealing with your own ongoing cancer battle and looking after your own family makes you a real hero in my eyes.

bless you Geordie man

Dear Friends,

A month from now our afternoon function will be over, and our annual Saturday night madness will be in full swing (CAN'T WAIT!)http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif.

For anyone who hasn't booked up it's not too late to claim the last 4 places. If you'd like to attend, please email me a.s.a.p:
georgehardy51@msn.com

As for accommodation, there are no Saturday night rooms left.

The Mill has about four rooms available for Fri 19th, but you'd now have to ring them directly, as I've booked every other one (Fri & Sat) in the appropriate names, and given the remainder back for general sale.

Now, a check list:

VENUE The Mill on The Soar, Coventry Road, Broughton Astley, Leicestershire
Tel: 01455 282419

SAT NAV CODE: LE9 6QD

We start getting into the function room soon after 1pm

Buffet approx. 2pm

Bring your cameras (we always need 100s of photos for the B2PCa albums)

And please have some questions ready for our guest speaker, oncologist Jamie Mills

Last but not least, please bring some beautiful hot weather with you!

Be seeing you all very soon,

Stay well my friends,

George

On the strength of what has reportedly happened over the previous years I have booked to turn up on Friday as well the Saturday. I do hope that I am not disappointed?

I shall be accompanied, if the agency can provide a new "bezzy mate" for me for the weekend. Ginfers crossed.

you do an awesome job every year I can't wait for the poem if Lyn blushes you will have so much beer you won't know what to do with it all.

Of course we also have our super fundraiser and marathon man Kevla Irun who has many beers on a promise for him too, hope his good lady can steer him back to their B&B OK!

CB says he is hoping the agency provide him with a hot escort ... I seem to remember him talking on here about an Erica Osborne and Lyn was talking about rings or something so maybe there is a surprise nuptual about to take place?

I personally thought I would just keep it in the family and bring our Karen along again, we are both really looking forward to it , last year was all a bit wobbly for us both but it was the foundation of me starting over. I hope folks will see just how far we have both come in that year thanks to a massive amount of help from family, friends and some very special people here on the forum (and B2PCA)

Weather looks a bit iffy but I am sure it will not deter from the party spirit.

Dear Friends,

There are a just a dozen places left for the annual B2PCa summer 'do' to be held in Leicester on the afternoon of Sat 20th June.

Maximum capacity is 75 this year, and these place will go fast.

Those who have been to the yearly shennanigans will testify to the fun time we always have.

It's certainly not all about PCa, but we do have an excellent speaker (a top oncologist..thanks for that Sihttp://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif) who will be hosting a Q & A session after the buffet.

If you'd like to join us, please email me at:

georgehardy51@msn.com

And I'll add your name to the L2015 group emails which go out every few weeks, containing all the necessary info about the event.

See you all soon!http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

We now have only 10 places left at the B2PCa annual 'do' at The Mill On The Soar, Leics, on Sat 20th June.

Hopefully I'll get everything done and dusted before April if possible.

I'm sending a big cash deposit over to The Mill on Monday 9th March and then pay the balance at the end of May.

If you're 'Up for it' http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif then contact me a.s.a.p. at

georgehardy51@msn.com

But don't forget, if you're uncertain about attending because of illness, treatment, side effects etc. let me know and I will keep your booking reserved as provisional till a month before the function

Please don't be afraid to put your names forward. We're all mad, but we're harmless.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

Dear Mo,

Thank you for being so kind, even if it did bring a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat.
Getting as many of us together year after year has been a joy, but this past year had been the most difficult ever for me,

The upside of these events since 2007 has been getting to know so many genuinely nice people.
We've all made longstanding friendships which we've treasured.

Losing so many of my oldest friends one after the other in the past 12 months has hit me hard.
Mike Brooks was the latest in January, and it hurt, He and Kath had been with me at The Mill since day one, and we were very close.

To tell you the truth, I will feel lonely at The Mill On The Soar in June.

Even Allister (who also has never missed a single 'do', summer or winter since 2008, is buggering off on a cruise!http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif
And Rob and Michelle will be skipping this one so they can visit family after a difficult year.

Hey Al, you WILL be still around in 2016, I have absolutely no doubt about that at all (and we'll see you and Laura at The Flyer in nine months time).

Thank God for all you stalwarts like Chris and Shirley, and so many more of our good friends who will be with us again as always, and the fun will go on. Our missing warriors would expect nothing less of us.

So for anyone new here, or even some of you veterans who haven't yet enjoyed' Mill Madness', please give it a try,
You won't regret it.

Latest news is, that due to a cancellation, we now have 12 places available at the Saturday function.

Full details are in the post before Mo's.

Hoping to see some new faces and make some new friends again this year.
As I said lately, you can walk into the room a stranger and come out feeling you've known these good folks all your life.

All the very best to you all,

George

George,
no need to feel lonely mate, as soon as I see your bottom lip tremble I'll be off to the bar to top you up with the happy juice!
Appreciate these get-togethers are good but tinged with sadness, nature of the beast I guess.
But just consider what the guys would say if they could see you 'being a girl'
Chin up, you are doing a wonderful job, and I for one thank you from the bottom of my heart!

All the best

Kevin

p.s. I hope there isn't a history of debagging the new boy. If there is I'd better wear undies :)

Bollywood ...now there is a thought

OK for you coming from where you do buying gorgeous saris and veils is relatively easy, in Lincolnshire it is more clogs, dungarees and flat caps and that is just the women.

SS Juie as we are dragging you away from sanity this year I hope you are reading all this and getting yourself into tip top SOH, poor Trevor will think we kidnapped you and brought him an alien back.

Kev I am sure you will be up there with anyone else being risque especially after a few beers.

As a first timer last year I thought everyone was very well behaved, Ness got her chance for a ride on the HD courtesy of John she came back with a huge grin on her face! A few of us were a ittle worse for wear Friday and Saturday but we did wait until after curfew. There were no reports on the local news of anyone actually being detained against their will in any other establishment as far as I know.

The only sheep I saw were in a field about half a mile away although I have seen photos of a suspicious looking creature from 2013.

Hi Lyn,

So glad you  brought this topic to the top again. Must have been the pump action, huh?http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

Personally I love your ideas, but can you please contact Janet (JLBatty) about the Vacuum Pump (she vets the raffle prizes for decency's sake) and also mention your idea about pre-loved VEDs to go on her badges/key/rings/bracelets stall.

As for you offering yourself and our other lovely ladies to get your kits off for Charity Calendar photos?....what a superb idea!

However, we do have rules about that, but I'm sure you'll be OK with it.

Nudity is banned at The Mill, but you ARE allowed to pose in 'Mankinis' before a 'Sunday Morning Plunge' in the river, as our men did in days gone by.

One important condition though:

As leader of the pack you are required wear a red & white striped mankini.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

Now, an update:

As of today, FRIDAY 24th April, there are now four places available for the Saturday afternoon function, 20th June

If anyone would like to join us, please email me as soon as possible:

George, when we talked about extra prizes to make the raffle more interesting I don't think we were thinking along these lines, but all ideas welcome, nothing ever straightforward or boring on here is it?

Carol, I will bring a bin, just for you to put them in.  ;-)  And you can rely on me to dispose of them as even 3 in one evening had zero effect on me!

Janet's so right, nothing is ever dull or boring about a Bo££ocks 'do'.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

Julie, your checklist is looking good.

Glad you remembered to put cameras on it.

We want hundreds of photos for the 2015 album.

I missed taking the 'shot of the year' last time....in the packed restaurant on the Saturday night.....Janet on her hands and knees, crawling under a table to get to the seat she wanted! And no, it wasn't the booze, it's just that nothing ever beats our Janet.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

Chris? please don't bring a haggis (and stop asking Julie to show you her puppies. Shirley will give you a slap!)http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

We now have a room vacant for both Friday & Saturday night, as well as the three rooms available only on Friday night.

Please get in touch with me as soon as possible if you want accommodation.

George

Dear Friends,

Wishing you all a safe journey to The Mill and a fun filled weekend.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif

It will be wonderful having so many of us together again to enjoy the Madness.

And folks, I have just received 'THE POEM' from Chris Boothby.

IT HAS TO BE THE BEST EVER!

And our nominated ready (LYN) will have her work cut out.

If ever we can get her blushing, this is the time!http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif

See you all very soon.

On the strength of what has reportedly happened over the previous years I have booked to turn up on Friday as well the Saturday. I do hope that I am not disappointed?

I shall be accompanied, if the agency can provide a new "bezzy mate" for me for the weekend. Ginfers crossed.

George

you do an awesome job every year I can't wait for the poem if Lyn blushes you will have so much beer you won't know what to do with it all.

Last one there is a wuss

Dear Friends,

Yet another brilliant weekend! Great to see so many faces there, old and new.

Next summer the date of the event will be Saturday 18th June,

Well, I do hope everyone had a safe and easy journey home.

Honestly, I have so much to thank YOU all for!

I'll admit I'm knackered this morning, but when a few more brain cells return to life, I'll do a big post here.

George

Xx

Dear Pole-Dancing, Glider Flying Mo,http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif

Such kind words, thank you, and I'm so pleased to hear you laughed so much.

I have a list a mile long of acknowledgements and thank you notes which I must get posted on here, but at the rate I'm going it will be tomorrow before I have completed a draft I'm happy with (terrified I miss anyone off it!)http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif

So many guys here will agree that Zoladex Fog is a pain in the a$$. That's SO TRUE, innit?

So, Mo....in the meantime, thank you for agreeing to come upstairs with me on Friday night at The Mill.

You really helped me out.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif

Good afternoon folks.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif

It's 4 o' clock Tuesday, my brain cells now number 15 and I can finally say a big THANK YOU to everyone who attended the B2PCa bash over the weekend.

It was, as always, a joy to meet old friends and quite a few new ones too this time.
I do hope you all 'had a ball' (or two). http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif

There were almost 60 of us there, lower than usual because of last minute cancellations due to illness etc.

A huge plus was getting to see Janet and Derek from Australia, members of this site for nine years, known to so many of us for all those years and now we have finally met them personally for the first time.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif

Now for some acknowledgments:

First of all, thank you Si and Ness for getting your excellent oncologist (and all round nice guy) Jamie to give a talk followed by a lively Q & A session. This was so much appreciated by us all.

Next, we must thank Janet (Jlbatty) and all her ladies (you know who you are) who provided such a host of raffle prizes, and DerrickB1943 who once again brought an excellent bottle of Malt Whisky and took on the task of selling the tickets.

And a special mention for Keith Cass MBE, of The Red Sock Campaign in Wales, for his donation of Champagne and for everything he has done to help so many in the past.

The raffle raised £280 for PCUK. I'll be sending them the cheque this week.

Personal donations to Janet for badges, wristbands and key-rings amounted to £31.65 which she'll be sending off to PCUK too.

Total raised for PCUK: £311.65

Thank you Lynne (Cooky) for being our 'Lady of The Badges', Jean for handing out PCUK literature, and Mandy (Mo) for coming upstairs to help me out on Friday night. That lady is fearless!http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif

A special thank you to Nikon Steve for bringing the professional touch to all the  photo taking, and as always to Chris (Exbus) who every year takes at least 100 photos. In fact I have loads of them sent to me already.
They will all be in the L2015 album on B2PCa soon, and on our Photobucket site.
If anyone has some photos to send in please email them to me:

georgehardy51@msn.com

The more the merrier!

Now,THE ANNUAL POEM:

For many years now Chris Boothby has penned some outrageous verses for the 'do'.
No one in the room is safe from his wicked humour.

Chris couldn't be with us this year, so we called upon Lyn to do the recital.
I know everyone hoped we'd see her getting flustered and blushing like crazy at the sheer naughtiness of some verses.
But NO. There wasn't one stumble and not even a slight flush on her cheeks.

What a (n)ICE Lady!
The girl did brilliantly. THANK YOU LYN.

By the way, I daren't post the verses on these forums, but I'm sure you'll find a way to see them (nudge nudge wink wink).http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif

And thank you to one of our oldest ladies, and I'm sure she won't mind me saying that, Shirley (Mrs Exbus) for reading a poem of her own, filled with old memories and some saucy comments.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif

And speaking of ladies, one tradition was missing this year.
We didn't have the 'Asbo Ladies' carousing with bottles of vino at outside tables till 1am in the morning.

Wassup girls? Getting too old to party wildly?? http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif

Well, it was another great weekend spent in great company, and we can now only relax, and get ready for the next Summer Party 0n 18th June next year.

Incidentally, the annual winter get-together, normally about 20 of us, will take place in London on Wednesday 2nd December. Details later in the year.

I suppose I'll be editing this post countless times because I'm bound to have forgotten some important things to mention.

But for now, THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING THERE, and we'll meet again same place next June.
