I know you feel that surgery will suit you but have you checked out any other options. Obviously you will discount Active Surveillance as you want rid of the b****r. If you look at the Toolkit available from publications it may give you other options.
Even if they don't appeal, then the Toolkit may help you form questions to ask your consultant when you see him.
No two men are guaranteed to have the same side effects, long term or otherwise, from the same treatment. All we can do is tell you what it was like for us (in my case my husband).
PSA of 5 Gleason 3+3 is good! Should give you other good options as well as surgery.
Now that you have your confirmation your new outlook on life begins and so does your new "normal"
