Is six weeks too long?

After a months free from drug treatment my husband's PSA dropped from 5.2 to 4.7which we were thrilled with. His oncologist rang yesterday and said that she didn't need to se him for another six weeks but to remain on steroids. It seems strange because she wanted him to try out abiraterone after a disastrous attempt with enzalutamide. His oncologist did say that another four weeks break would be fine but I'm concerned that six weeks is risky. I know things happen slowly but having experienced a rise from 6 to 8 in two weeks I feel that things could be running away.

My husband is more than happy to go along with it, he feels that the longer he is not on drugs the better. So watch this space M

I'm having a two month break on prednisolone only so that trumps your six weeks. Plan is to have an extended period on another steroid thereafter, presumably subject to PSA readings continuing to be ok. So, I don't think your OH's six week break can be anything to worry about.
