I have osteoarthritis and this flared up in my left hip recently so after an Xray I also had my usual annual blood tests. ( I also have high blood pressure)

Doctor this time asked for a different test due to the arthritis and this turned out to be a PSA test.

Results came back and Doctor called me in to tell me that I had a PSA level of 5.3

I am now due to go to the Hospital for further tests or as Doctor said maybe just a chat!

What can I expect at the Hospital???

Len if you haven't had one already you may have a DRE (digital rectal examination ie finger up.the bum). Not painful but the urologist will feel for anything suspicious.

Chances are that your PSA is slightly elevated due to other reasons eg an enlarged prostate.

See what they say and post on here. Further advice can be given then. I know it's easy to say but try not to worry.

Hope all goes well
