hard to come to terms with

Hi all.

Long time since I posted, hope you are all staying strong and still fighting. Just thought that I would update my story.

Anyway I have had my chemo, which finished at the end of July. Was previously given 6 treatments but seeing as I was doing well my consultant decided to give me another 4 sessions of chemotherapy. And would you believe it I ended up in hospital for a weekwith pneumonia, so my chemotherapy ended there.

My next appointment is in a couple of weeks with my consultant. Since I came off the steroids I have had a few dark days but still feeling upbeat.

Have set my future, going to retire in 18 months so I can enjoy the rest of my days. Consultant has told me that it's very unlikely that I would see my pension so time to finish work. The thing is that I phsyically feel good, I've even took up golf.

Like the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover.

Take care all.

Great to see your update but sorry to hear your news in a way also. Retire now if you feel things aren’t going right. Just do it and don’t look back. I still feel and look fine but my future is very uncertain. I still have very dark moments and depression but am actively spending every moment I can with my young boy and family , booking days out , air shows, holidays etc. I’m trying to permanently have something to look forwards to before the bad news arrives and my life changes.
Keep strong and best wishes for appt

Hi Chris

Nice to hear from you mate, it's good that you are spending quality time with the family.

I have set a date of 18 months, that is when my railway pension would be best to lift. I have spoken to my HR department to get my options so if things do go pear shape then I will finish earlier. Not my first choice as I actually like my job but the better half has told me that I have to retire, she who must be obeyed. Meet with consultant in a couple of weeks so see what he says.

I can, like most guys here, can relate to the dark times as I've had plenty of late. Just trying fill my time as much as possible as it is when I have spare time I get the dark thoughts. I'm even starting to lash out when i am sleeping, no recollection of it in the morning though. But the OH is quick in telling me about it, she is threatening to banish me to the spare room lol.

Funny how life kicks youi in the butt when you least expect it.

Take care mate.

Hi all

Met my consultant today for my 3 monthly post chemotherapy meet up and received some unexpected news. My PSA is still undetectable which was pleasing to hear. Had a few sleepless nights lately thinking the worst before the meeting.

I know my future still looks bleak but the news today gave me a huge lift. So much so I went to the golf course in the rain, still hopeless at the game though.

My next meeting will be in 4  months time so planning to get away for a nice wee break in the sun soon.

Take care all.

Hi all,

I have a wee question, has anyone had a penile prophsis (implant). I'm going to see a consultant tomorrow to discuss it after being referred by my ED nurse. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this, is it successful etc.

I had a RP 3 years ago with no nerve sparing, followedf by RT and Chemo. I have tried the pump and caverjet with a little bit of success.

It's going to be some conversation tomorrow.

Guys,

Unfortunately no implant for me.

The urologist believes there are too many complications due to my previous surgery i.e. scar tissue etc.

Pretty disappointed, he isn't ruling it out in the future but with possible other treatment for my PCa it could lead to complications.

Ah well, it's back to the pump and caverjet.

Sorry to hear your news. It would be a big thing to go through mate. Have you tried Invicorp 25 yet ?? It works in 70% of people where all else has failed. Try it privately after doctor says ok. It won’t disappoint

Hi mate,

Never heard of invicorp 25, is it an injection?.

I take it you use it.

Hi mate,

Just read your post from September 2017 about invicorp. Going to note it and ask my consultant when I see him in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the info mate

Otherwise go to the OnineClinic.com and buy some depending on your circumstances and other health / GP advice. I think 5 costs about £120. Sometimes you just have to sort your own recovery I reckon. I had very varied results with Caverject and tremendous after pain. And never a full erection tbh. Invicorp was awesome. Luckily for me I don’t need it now but may do in the future.

Hi guys.

Been a while since I posted as things were going along smoothly for a couple of years.

But suddenly the s*** has hit the fan, just been told my psa is now detectable at 0.6. Been undetectable for the past 2 years. Thinking that the zoladex is now failing. Totally weird as I had been living my life with no hospitals for a few months but now its going tits up.

Have an appointment with my oncologist tomorrow but to be honest I'm fesring the worst. My psa was undetectable I'm January but it is now staring to raise its ugly head again.

Good luck and wishes to my fellow sufferers.
