Hey Guys


 


I just had my PSA results and this came back as 8 which was a big jump from 3.3 when I last did it in July .


 


It was done in November because I had a template Biopsy done 2 weeks before my 3 monthly PSA date and the specialist said there's no point as it would as the procedure would affect my PSA readings.


I had the biopsy on 14th November and the PSA 6th January.


I am going away on holiday for 3 weeks this weekend so I can't really do anything until I get back .


My main reason for this Topic is that I wanted to know if it's ok for me to get another PSA test done when I get back say middle of February this would be at least 6 weeks since the last one so I can know if the January reading was just a blip? Instead of waiting for 3 month?

What was the result of your template biopsy? Have you had an mpMRI scan?

Hi Bob, you could ask your GP for an extra PSA test in February but the consultant wouldn't see you any earlier because you are already diagnosed and are on active surveillance. Get your next PSA in March when it should have been and then discuss with the consultant whether it is time to choose a treatment. The fact that your PSA goes up and down quite a bit suggests you may sometimes have some prostatitis so March result will be interesting.

The result of my template Biopsy was


they found cancer in 4 out of 34 cores and the it's still 


Gleason Score (3+3 =6).


 


The specialist has just ran me this morning and wants me to do another PSA in February when I come back from holiday as he said he want to rule out the possibility of this Just being a blip.


I have my MRI scan plan for march

Just an update really


Advised by my specialist to get another PSA done on my return from holiday as the last on I did in January jumped up from 3.3 to 8 .


Did another one 10th of February and this was 7 still worrying though.


I had an MRI scan done on the same day and the nurse that rang me with the results said abnormalities they found was exactly as it was one year ago with no change.


I am seeing the specialist in s fee days to discuss were we go from here as nothing seems to make any sense to me anymore.


I think I would be patient and do one more 3 monthly PSA and see what comes back.


Any advice on what I should be asking them at this meeting in a few days would be well appreciated..

Keep calm and carry on on AS for as long as your medics think you can get away with it.

Have as many erections and ejaculations as possible in the meantime.
