Obv been covered many times before , I have just been diagnosed with Prostate cancer . MRI indicated pirads score 4/5 which was alarming. Biopsy however subsequently shows 2/5 which is good news (sort of). I now have to decide on which treatment.  Does anyone on here have experience of the radioactive seed implant (can’t rem how to spell the treatment name).

Hi

I think you mean Brachytherpy where radioactive seeds are implanted into your prostate.

I cannot tell you if this is the best option for you that can only be decided by you and your Specialist .

I was diagnosed in April 2016 with microscopic blood in my urine and sent for further tests by my doctor.

It was found that i had 5 samples out of 20 positive with a PSA 2.19 and Gleason 3+4=7 and after meetings with two Specialists in each procedures i decided to go for Brachytherpy as after a lot of reading up on it and help from members on here i felt it was the less invasive choice for me with the least possible side affects.

If you click on my Avatar you can see my journey so far and i am very happy to answer any question you may have about it

I am just over 5 years from operation with PSA 0.05 and was signed of by my Specialist in January 2021 and very please with the results' still have ED but helped with 4 Viagra tablets on prescription per month.

Regards John.

Hi John. Many thanks for the quick response.

yes that is the treatment i refer to, i was just intrigued to get a reply from someone who actually had

experience of Brachytherapy. My PSA is 7 and Pyrads 2 score which they say is early stages luckily.

I'll take a look at your journey, and i'm really pleased to hear its worked for you.
