PIRAD 4

Has anyone here had a PIRAD 4 on the MRI and it turned out not to be cancer?

My husband had PIRAD 4 and unfortunately it did turn out to be cancer but caught at an early stage with Gleason 6.

Ivr read of many men on here who haven’t had cancer and hopefully that will be the case for you.

Just just listen to what they tell you and ask lots of questions.

Thanks
Nicola

I can think of at least two. They are almost certainly no longer on the forum. Quite reasonably, healthy people tend to leave this site.

I had Pirad 4 in June 2020 - PSA 11.0 - the subsequent biopsy found no cancer. My PSA has continued to climb I was referred back for a repeat series of tests in September of this year when my PSA reached 19.2 - I am now waiting for the results of my second transperineal biopsy

PIRADS 4 means a strong likelihood of cancer, but sure, it can happen that it turns out not to be. A biopsy and looking at cells under a microscope is the only way to be certain.

Don't get too stressed about it. Localised prostate cancer is somewhat unpleasant to have treated, but not the end of the world.

All the best,

Chris
