I think orgasms, like continence, are very much an individual experience. I had non nerve sparing radical surgery so I knew that erections were a thing of the past. A week after my catheter was removed, I decided to have a go at masturbating although I’d read scary stories about some men experiencing pain or not being able to reach a climax. I’d also read that you don’t get that feeling of fullness prior to ejaculation because there’s nothing to ejaculate.
In my case, the masturbation was very successful. As years have passed, I’ve often reached a climax with my penis still flaccid, so the lack of an erection wasn’t too much of an issue. My penis is shorter than pre-op, and it wasn’t huge then, but by using my thumb and fingers I reached an orgasm after about five minutes. I did have some aid in the form of pornography, but I’ve subsequently reached an orgasm in not much longer a time with no external stimulus.
For me, every orgasm has felt great - I’ve had five now - and only one resulted in a small amount of wee coming out. It feels weird not to be ejaculating, like I’m a young boy again - I wish - but it’s a lot better than my first masturbation after the biopsy which was scary (I thought my penis was bleeding!)
I also get a feeling that I’m close to reaching a climax which I didn’t expect but is reassuring to know that it’s not far off.
