Has prostate cancer treatment affected your sex life? Would you like to share your story?

** Update 10 May**

I've had a great response to this already, so am not in need of any more volunteers. Do keep an eye out for more callouts like this on other topics as we continue to build our webinar series 😀

Has prostate cancer treatment affected your sex life? Would you like to share your story?

At Prostate Cancer UK, we’re excited to be planning a series of information webinars for men with prostate cancer. These webinars will allow us to have open and honest conversations about the topics that matter for men.

One of the topics we’ll be exploring is prostate cancer treatment and your sex life. The webinar will feature one of our prostate cancer Specialist Nurses, an NHS clinician specialising in this area, and a man with prostate cancer … and that could be where you come in.

If your sex life has been affected by prostate cancer treatment, we’d love you to join this webinar to share your story. You’ll talk about your treatment and how it affected your sex life, have a short discussion with the other panellists, and answer some questions from the audience.

We know this isn’t an easy subject to speak about, especially with lots of people listening in. We’ll do our best to make it as safe a space as possible, with lots of planning and scripting so that you only share what you’re comfortable with.

This is a great opportunity to be part of our growing information and support offering, and to make a real difference for men making treatment decisions or living after treatment.

We don’t have an exact date for this webinar yet, but it will be some time in the Autumn.

If you’re interested in this opportunity, please drop me a note here or get in touch at nick.ridgman@prostatecanceruk.org

If you were to look at my thread you’d find I’m as open and honest as anyone could be about my sex life during this 8 yr journey. You can count me in ok !

Hi

I would be most interested in sharing my experience. I had prostatectomy 12 years ago and after the initial shock of surgery I recovered quick quickly and my wife and I were able to re-establish our sex life with the aid of VEDs. I have written quite extensively on this website  about how we have managed this. A quick look at this thread will give you some idea:

Hello! Thanks for your reply. I had a great response to this post very quickly, and I think we might actually have enough chaps to help us with this webinar now. Sorry you missed the boat!

Do keep an eye out on the Online Community, as there may well be other webinars we need help with at some point in the future 😀
