How it's going with me

Hello All. I had my robotic removal on Oct 12th 2023.....4 months now. My leakage has gotten much better and I've gone from pull-ups to my regular briefs with medium pads about 2 weeks ago. Felt great to get out of the pull-ups.... my pants kept sliding down with them. So for those of you just starting out this does get better.....just relax and give yourself some time.

I have no pain left and feel very good with the exception of my ED.... I've had ED for years and have used a tri-mix shot for erections. Due to the pain I had in my penis after the surgery I've been reluctant to take a shot but think I will soon. I've tried several times to masterbate but have much leakage when I do that.....limits masterbating to the shower.

When I get very close to an orgasim..... it just backs down and the sensation leaves. Has anyone experienced this?

I have tried the vaccum pump and it's very uncomfortable.

Any experiences with masterbation or hopefully sex with my wife at some point is welcome.

Thanks and I hope everyone is getting better!

No, he doesn't set out to have multiple orgasms or pause and then start again. It just happens ... I suppose a bit like women can have one that then rolls into another and then another 🤷

Hi Couper.

I have never been very successful with the vacuum pump to achieve satisfactory erections for penetrative sex. Perhaps if I had received some proper instruction then I may have framed better. It is worth persevering with your pump purely for penile rehab and to prevent penile atrophy due to not having regular natural erections. You haven't indicated whether your surgery was nerve sparing. If it was have you been offered Sildenafil or Tadalafil to help with erections? If you were having to use Trimix injections prior to surgery then maybe that ship has sailed.

Post prostatectomy I do find that orgasms seem a lot more elusive and a lot of men say the same. The lack of a decent erection probably isn't going to help.

We are some of the few (it seems) who suffer from urinary incontinence during arousal and at orgasm (climacturia). It is a very irritating side effect because most of the time my continence is pretty good. At 4 months you have a lot more healing ahead of you so with a bit of luck it could sort itself out.

I hope this is of some help. Chris

I can identify with most of the problems you guys are experiencing. I had prostatectomy over 12 years ago. Sooner or later you will achieve erections, orgasms will probably will never be the same. Mind you some men, including myself, soon after surgery and recovery had amazing orgasms - sometimes dry and often ejaculated urine. You have to keep trying, be imaginative and most importantly talk to your wife/partner - ask her what you like and be intimate and give her pleasure. In time it will all come together. You just have to try different things until you find something that works. With a bit of help (oral sex) John learnt on the day his catheter was removed that it was possible to orgasm without an erection and I also became skilled at masturbating him while soft - it needs plenty of lube though! If you are leaking a lot of urine, a condom is one option or you could lay on a puppy pad or similar.

After a faltering start, J has discovered the joy of multiple orgasms, not something that he had ever experienced before but now happens most of the time.

The orgasm thing is a problem I had. This forum helped solve it by recommending alcohol as a way to relax. It worked for me at the time. I still occasionally happens, usually some seed of self doubt will creep in to my head and despite having all the ducks lined up (erection, hot missus) it still doesn't happen. Makes me feel like a porn star, but a little frustrating! Fortunately it's a rare occurrence these days.

The urine thing got better for me too, 8 years out I even risk letting the missus chew on a bit of sausage so long as I am pulling a kegel while she does it.

What a generous offer.😁

Good morning Bobby (or whatever time it is in the USA).

I'm only joking mate,  I couldn't resist. It's my British 'Carry on' films type sense of humour.

I had robotic surgery a year ago. I used to urinate when orgasming but now it's dry. I was lucky and was 99% continent after about 8 months.

ED has been an issue. My op was non nerve sparing and I was told I'd never have a natural erection again, which up to now has been the case. I didn't like the idea of pumps and viagra type drugs didn't work. However, following an ED clinic I was prescribed Invicorp injections and they worked.

I get an erection within ten minutes and it lasts for almost two hours which is a hell of a lot longer than I can. Unlike pre op, after orgasming,  you remain hard. It seems a waste to not get the full benefits of of a long lasting erection and I'm going to train to try and have 'seconds'.

I would say the Invicorp erections are about 80% as hard as pre op ones and enable penetrative sex in many positions.

Have you been booked in for an ED clinic appointment. Mine was automatically done about 5 months post op.

I hope you continue to recover and all the best for the future.

Adrian

Wow! Good lad! I have never experienced multiple orgasms and I'm jealous. Even at my prime I needed at least an hour to 'reload' As previously stated my Invicorp erection can last up to two hours and remains after orgasm. I should do something to maximise its use, instead of just happily and contentedly looking at it.

I am almost 6 months post op.

Luckily I had almost no urinary incontinence at all, and never needed to wear a pad.

However I did have issues with urine leakage when masturbating.

Basically everytime I stimulated the penis, there would be squirts of urine.

I did not do anything special, just the occasional Kegel exercise, but that problem has improved a great deal. Now there is only occasional minimal leakage.

I found that seated position (on the throne) is best in terms of producing erections.

Standing upright less so, and lying down is the worst.

I am on daily tadalafil 5mg

Thanks for that Lyn..... I couldn't imagine my wife getting past oral with me leaking urine. It's a lot of urine that comes out while standing. Maybe it would be better laying down. I'll have to try.

Just a thought but for those people who leak urine, do you have a stand up pee before masturbating or initiating sex? I found that I had a small leak (dribble) if I had a partially full bladder - but having a good pee and washbasin wash beforehand fixed it.
User

Yes Steve, I would say short of getting the Dyson out, I pee out as much as I possibly can beforehand. The trouble is you are continually producing urine and there will always be  residue in your bladder. Any activity in the standing position is generally worse than when lying down

Lyn, you are so modest. Credit, where credit's due.

Hi Couper

I leak when sexually excited and at orgasm. I use a pump and ring. Once I have achieved an erection I clean myself up and my wife enjoys giving me oral sex while I use a vibrator on her (we are in 69 position). Because there is a ring on the penis it stops anything getting through - worth a try.
