Hi,

We're having a quiet one too, got some rump steak in for dinner.

Off to the lido this afternoon, the wife is doing another cold water swim, it was 10°C yesterday, way too cold for me so I'm not getting in for a few months yet.

We've booked the asbestos removal for late January so that we can get cracking on building work. Hopefully it'll all be complete by this time next year 🀞🏻

Hope you can get back to travelling next year Phil, there's nothing quite like a trip abroad to look forward to🀞🏻

I've just pinched a virtual mince pie off the virtual bar.

Happy New Year everyone.

Kev.

Hi Kev.

Rump steak sounds cracking, love a bit of steak and rump is one my favourite cuts. Our youngest and his missus are popping round tonight and we’re getting a takeaway Chinese…

Swimming in 10deg water sounds painful. Did it as a kid all year round as we lived next to the sea wall. Took your breathe away … dive down for rocks then back out and shelter by the sea wall. Mental… ! Good on her though, it’s supposed to be very good for you , unless you have a heart attack obviously…

Bet you're looking forward to getting going on the building work . Hope the asbestos removal goes to plan.

I just got a quote for travel insurance with Insurancewith who we were with last year.
Europe only , Sapphire cover for £540 multi trip annual. Don’t think that’s too bad as best with AllClear is over £2000. I’ll get the missus to go through it when she’s home especially the medical declaration but pretty sure I got it all correct. Loads of detailed questions even about platelet levels. We can update the policy if we decide to go further afield.

So hopefully we can book Jersey and a visit to Spain to see friends. Plus our Portugal trip in April with the oldest boy. YAY…

And we have a credit note for 2 nights in a hotel in Appledore to use.

Oh I do love a mince pie… hope you’ve left one for me πŸ™‚. I’ve had a few chocolates today - don’t tell the missus…

Have a nice evening everyone and I’ll see you in the New Year πŸ‘

Cheers

Phil

Happy New Year folks!

May your side effects, PSA levels, and Gleason score be as low as possible, and may your testosterone, if possible, be high.

I made a New Years resolution to cut down on going to the Club. However, I see that the trains are running as normal today, so I'll reconsider my commitment in a couple of weeks time. 😁

Hi all,

Getting to feel like a life long member wishing you all a better 2025 with your various journeys.

I feel i have been one of the lucky ones being 8+years on with no real problems but no longer the spring chicken i used to be.I still look in every day in case i can give some advice on the Brachytherapy side as it seems a few more are going that way. I see that a few members on the 6+6 and even 7s are taking AS as an option but i do hope they keep on top of the PSA numbers as they can soon raise and get you in to trouble.

Good luck with 2025. John.

Hi chaps. Hope you’re all keeping well ?

I’ve now booked up a little trip to Jersey end of January. Be nice to get out and about again.

Also have a trip up to London next Saturday to see the Xmas Scrooge show and meal. We saw the Sherlock Holmes one last year in the same venue and it was excellent.

Hope you’ve all been ok with the weather? It’s just wet and miserable here. Was gonna try to have a little walk round the block but it’s so horrible out I’ll postpone till it’s not so wet. I do need to get some fitness back as I'm still very weak and get tired easily. My youngest came round yesterday to fit up a new hall light and a blind on the landing window. I was asleep in the lounge and slept right through including a food delivery. Couldn’t believe it … !

Well I’ve finished my virtual pint of London Pride and a mince pie.  πŸ˜ So I’ll be on my way now. Take care chaps and let’s hope we have a good 2025 πŸ‘

Hi Phil,

Sorry to hear that you're so tired  mate, and hope things improve. I've often wanted to pm you but haven't wanted to disturb you or put any pressure on you to respond. If you ever feel like a natter just contact me.

I hope you have a great trip to Jersey and enjoy the Xmas Scooge show. My wife would say that I could play the lead role.

Hi Adrian.

I’m ok with a pm if you want toπŸ‘.

It’s funny but I’m the opposite of Scrooge and my missus has to reign me in or I’d spend it all..

We booked up the Fawlty Towers show at our local Cliffs Pavilion yesterday which should be fun. Also got an Elkie Brooke’s concert soon and Simply Red at the O2 in October. 10 days in Portugal in April, plus a couple of nights in West Country already paid for just have to book it. So 2025 slowly filling up with events which is good to look forward to.

We have priority booking and early notification for the Cliffs Pavilion but I noticed yesterday I’d missed Roger Daltry in concert there so was a bit gutted about that. Sold out now 🀦🏼…?

Anyways gotta keep busy as I hate wasting a life… see so many people doing nothing with their lives and I want to shake them up … 🀣. We only get one go at it ..!

Take care

Phil

Afternoon gents

Phil - sorry you're feeling so tired all the time, but glad to see you are keeping busy. It's good to have something to look forward to isn't it. I can't keep track of all your trips. I don't tend to get away much these days, but we bought a camper van at the end of last summer, so I intend to use it to explore more of this wonderful country, and possibly take it over the channel for a bit of warmer weather later in the year. I'm not really into camping, much to my wife's regret, but this thing has a nice double bed with a decent mattress, so I think I'll survive. Oh, and a nice beer fridge 😬

Adrian - how's the new year's resolution going? You shouldn't give up too many visits to your club mate, as the resulting stories keep us all smiling πŸ‘

Had my review meeting with the Prof on Friday. PSA all good, so now he wants to get one of his colleagues to try and sort out the ED issue. Got to go to the Cleveland again tomorrow for a consultation with the lady in question. Not sure how I am going to enjoy talking to her about the state of affairs below the belt, but we'll see.....

On the leakage front, he wants to review again in 3 months, but is already floating the idea of more surgery to improve things if it hasn't got any better πŸ™„. Needless to say I am now on a crash course of PFEs (I had got a bit lax) to try and avoid this.

Anyway, I suppose I'd better get a bit of work done, so I'll catch up with you shortly.

Cheers.

Ian.

Hi Ian. I think I’m just going through a tired patch. I thought I’d got over it but it seems to be hanging on. I’ll hopefully get some fresh air tomorrow and perk up…

Camper van sounds magic. Never used one but saw loads on a holiday to New Zealand and they looked great inside and NZ has brilliant facilities for them.

Quite fancy a little VW one down in the West Country some time πŸ€”. That’s as rugged as i get nowadays. Did my camping and sailing trips when I was young enough to rough it.

Great your PSA is still good. Sorry the ED is still an issue. When I went on HT at the beginning my libido didn’t reduce and I asked my specialist nurse if that’s ok. She said libido is driven by many things as well as testosterone, such as simple memory and things that trigger those thoughts… 😳… Hope you can get it sorted out.

Likewise the leakage. I’ve generally been ok but just recently had stress leakage and have to wear a small pad now. But it’s starting to get better now again and hoping I can stop using the pads soon. I do take Solifenacin plus Tamsulosin as my nurse said i likely have radiation damage to my bladder. But the Solifenacin did help and I’ll keep taking it.

Funny how you say about talking to a lady about waterworks . I had ladies for my counselling and most of my difficult discussions were about childhood crap and I would have found it more difficult talking to a man about it so I was lucky.

My specialist nurse was a lady as most of them are and she was brilliant.

So anyway, really good luck with the PFEs and the ED .

Cheers

Phil

That may explain why I get slight stirrings whenever I get a can of squirty cream?

Hi all,

I'm late to the party, down to the last three mince pies now, all the tesco finest went last week.

Adrian, you'll have to keep a can of squirty cream with the Invicorp πŸ€ͺ

Phil, hope you're feeling better and that your energy levels pick up in time for your Jersey trip. Just realised it was last April that we were there, it's such a nice place, definitely going back to see what we missed first time round.

We just booked flights to Zurich for the wife's birthday next month.. then the boiler packed up a couple of days ago 😭😭 the guy's here installing it now. We were hoping to nurse it through to the spring, but we had to move it forward by about four months.

Ian, I had a female ED nurse (not in the biblical sense) it's a bit weird but what's it matter if yet another woman touches my penis 🀷‍♂️ I remember when she injected my penis for the first time, very very weird, my Mrs had to wait in the corridor due to covid. Anyway, we raced home and used my erection before it wore off.

As for a camper van, my Mrs likes the idea and we've been discussing the pros and cons of using one to do a road trip. As I've got older I've got more accustomed to airbnb's and hotels though.

It's c.c.cold here but boiler bloke reckons he'll be done around lunchtime 🀞🏻

Cheers all,

Kev.

Hi Kev

Sorry to here about your old boiler playing up in the cold weather. I tell mine to put on an extra cardigan.

Joking apart, I hope you get it sorted out.

As for keeping the tin of whipped cream in the fridge next to the Invicorp. I've tried it, but like my penis, it makes it hard and it won't squirt.

Despite my 5 star Trust Pilot review of Invicorp, I've stockpiled enough to straighten the leaning tower Pisa.  I've got that many packs in the salad draw, that it's stopped the celery wilting, made the butter too hard to spread, and the fridge door is too stiff to open.

As for first visits to the ED clinic.  I remember the ED nurse, whilst injecting my penis,  saying something about 'feeling a small prick'. I thought there's no need for that, love! I'm cold and embarrassed!

I expect Spurs beating Liverpool made Phil's evening.

Well, quite, but there was that moment of dread as she cupped my nuts - " Oh s***, what if it suddenly recovers now" πŸ˜‚

Your sense of humour never let's me down mate πŸ˜‚. Injections are on the agenda next visit apparently. Wants me to try the pump first, and at £220 I'm hoping it might actually work!

To be on the safe side, she should have worn safety goggles?

£220 for a pump! That's a bit stiff! 😁

Hiya guys, nice to see the bar full 🍺.

First off yes I was pretty pleased and also surprised at Spurs win…. Let’s hope we can keep a clean sheet at Liverpool…

Hoping we can get up to a game this year. It’s a bit of a pain from where we live on the trains with quite a bit of walking which I’m not good at at the moment… But it’s a great experience and a cracking stadium.

Bit of discussion on the ED issues I see. I’m not that experienced on this as I never really got ED. I think my libido has waned a little more recently which could even just be old age and not related to testosterone at all. Obviously feeling s*** with the chemo isn’t going to help either.

I remember at the beginning of this journey they gave me Sildenafil pills and OMG did they work 😳… But after a while they changed me onto the Tadalafil which seems to keep things ticking over ok. I also have a pump but I don’t use it very often. I know I should though. Good on you guys using the injections .

Kev was it really April last year we were in Jersey… that was our last time going over due to starting the chemo. Looking forward to going in a couple of weeks. Let me know if you’d like any suggestions on places to visit, … and eat πŸ™‚…

Never been to Zurich although I had to change planes there once on a business trip. Hoping I can keep the travel insurance going whatever next treatment I get. We are only 20 mins from Southend airport so quite a few destinations from there. Friends in Alicante are on the hopeful list for this year.

Hope you get the boiler sorted . It’s pretty damn cold outside.. 🧊 We downsized 3 years ago from a big draughty old 1930’s house to a 1970’s house and it is magic. It keeps warm so well.  We actually back onto our old garden and so can see the old house . We do not envy them having to try to heat it all up.

So who’s round is it next ?

By the way , starting this thread Adrian was inspired.

Cheers

Phil
