Hi everyone

First off. Thank you Adrian for introducing your fam to me. Sounds lovely wee family. Esp the grandkids. Lovely ages. Great idea about your scar when you were at swimming. He will really think my grandad is a hero. Awwww. Is he the one that plays the football? I’m just getting ready. It’s Albies birthday today. He is 2. His mum sent me video off him going in living room this morning. All his presents wrapped up in spiderman paper. He runs for all the ballon’s. Kicks one n shouts. A goallll. Typical isn’t it.

I think that was a typo the 86 your wee Sun trap bench would have been on fire 😂. Hope your thermometer not broken. Cos. that be fantastic. Why does England always get brill weather. My 3 sisters stay in Doncaster. They always have gd weather.

Omg just got video nana look at my scooter. Are you coming round 🤣🤣

Anyone else like to introduce fam pls do.

Also Chris thank you for your message about try not to worry. Yea it’s the waiting for these results it’s terrible. Hope you get yours soon. As you say. Then you can choose the next move.

Right I going to finish getting ready n get round to the birthday boy. My hubby is tired every day. That is never him. So. See what a mean Chris I’m worrying about that too now he bk in bed. Not even had results yet & im 2nd guessing everything. Hope you all have a good day.

Take care

Hi Suzz.

Have a great day with Albie. I remember I got Ollie a Spiderman scooter when he was about 2 years old. Everything was Spiderman, dressing gown, T shirt, slippers, socks and all. 🙂 Yes, Ollie has taken to football. He trains three times a week and has a match most weekends. He's a very good goalkeeper.  I feel very proud when other spectating parents, especially the oppositions, shout at him, "Great save keeper!" His mum and him lived with us when he was a baby. Even when she got a place of her own, because she was working, until he went to school, we were full time babysitters. I think that's why I formed a special bond with him.

I hope your husband starts feeling a bit better. I think most on here would agree that the initial diagnosis period is the worst part. Everything is a shock and you seem to be having lots of tests and always waiting for results. On top of that you've got to learn all the new cancer terminology. Its a difficult time for you both.

Hiya guys,

Happy Birthday Suzz for Wednesday.

Family wise we have 2 boys. Both married, youngest who is 32 and lives locally. The oldest, is 37 and lives in Jersey. We have 1 grandchild so far with another on the way. Both will be Jersey kids. We’ve been married 42 years now and hoping to scrape out a few more yet.

Both the boys are good kids. They did a little speech the other day in the restaurant for my birthday and it was so funny. Our youngest wears his heart on his sleeve and at his wedding he did a speech which brought tears to everyone’s eyes, and our oldest got up to do his best man speech after and said ‘ how can i follow that” …!

Wrt to the worry you will learn to roll with it given time. It certainly changes you as you move along the journey. I had a friend who died a few years ago from the Big C and he got very bitter. I try to not ever get like that . We have to accept their cards dealt to us and play the best game we can.

Have a lovely day Suzz.

By the way, I’ve found the site to be a bit weird lately. I also keep seeing the spammers. No idea what they get out of doing that…

Cheers everybody,

Phil

I've just reported a spammer trying to flog something on a thread made by Stew the blog.  Apparently Stew passed away recently. It's absolutely disgusting that these morons abuse a prostate cancer site. If caught they should  made to have a digital rectal examination by a doctor with hands the size of shovels. That'd teach 'em.  😄

Hi guys

thank you so much for introducing us to the family. Sounds lovely fam. When is new baby due Phil. Is it boy or girl grandchild yous have got the now. Do they know what they are having ?

boys sound lovely. Funny enough my two boys are the same. The oldest one wears his heart on his sleeve. Mind you only to family. Other one total numpty. He has great sense of humour.

phil you surely will scrape by loads of years. With Mrs Phil & lovely family & all that yous have came through. You bldy well better or wee Suzz from Glasgow come along and give you a glesga kiss 😂😂.

I have always been a worrier. Honest to god I worry about everything. My family say I need go to Drs as I just worry so much. We don’t even know if my hubby got the C yet. As I said waiting on results of biopsy. I got horrible feeling he has. Just something to do with Pirads lesion. Also letter to our go says if mri shows any concerning shadows he may need further tests including biopsy. So he has had them further tests. Thankfully bone scan was clear. In my mind. I had him riddled all over bones 😢. See what I mean about over worrying. I am trying my best as 6-7 wksis long way away.

I’m the same. Don’t think we will get bitter. Not saying how we will feel when we get results. Be tears all round either way. Happy 70th by the way & what a lovely thing Mrs Phil done & boys by surprise pertyyyyy.

thanks again everyone. Ohhh Adrian. Yep u right. It’s spiderman everything at moment with albie.

Morning all,

Looks like it's going to be another sunny spring day and the Grand National is on.

I've got a pound each way on Kandoo Kid and Hitman. They seem to have four legs each so the virtual beers are on me if they come in.

Cheers all.

Kev.

Hi Kev.

I've done Intense Raffles. The missus has done Monbeg Genius and Beaufort.

They all probably fall at the first. 😁

Hi Adrian,

I see Beaufort finished, the rest either fell or pulled up. So I can't afford to buy the virtual beers, sorry.

We used to have slightly better luck when we took the kids to watch greyhound racing a few years ago.

Cheers,

Kev.

Hi Kev.

We were a real pub yesterday having a get together with the wife's side of the family. We were watching the race on the big screen TV.  One of them had a tenner on the winner and bought a round. It made a considerable hole in his winnings. 😁

Hi Guys and Gals.

Our next grand bubby is due mid October and no idea what flavour as yet. Still don’t know if I’ll be able to fly by then. Wondering if they’ll let me do the short haul to Jersey though …! Goin by ferry is such a drag and very expensive. Wed have to drive down to Portsmouth or Poole from Essex then most of the day on the ferry.

Wifey spoke to palliative care nurse today who said she’s referred my last blood test to my GP  ( was taken on 27th March by the nurse at home). There’s something on there she thinks he needs to look at… 😳

Had my 15th Degarelix today and hope that I don’t get the issues i had last time and up in A&E again. The nurse took great care in trying to find a site in my belly not used before. I walked back from the GPs again today and didn’t stop once… mind you i was very slow 😆

Didn’t follow the horsey racing this weekend but i did get to listen to the Spurs game through me hearing aids whilst lounging in the summerhouse. I think i drifted off once or twice…😊. Didn’t sound convincing but a win is 3 points …!

Been finalizing the kitchen appliance list today so i can get it to the supplier people to get me some prices. We have a good appliance supplier nearby who will match anyone else. Good advise there too.

Not had a nap today so feeling a bit sleepy. Too late now so I’ll just need to last out . Cup of coffee and a chocolaty thing might keep me going.

Take care everyone,

Phil

Hey Phil,

Waiting for a grandchild to pop out is pretty exciting, my birthday is in October 😁. Ours is due in eleven weeks, son and DIL came over at the weekend, she's having regular scans due to a bleed early on but everything seems fine now 🤞🏻

Hope your bloods are good and the Degarelix doesn't give you any grief. 🤞🏻

It was our anniversary yesterday, we celebrated with a long walk stopping for a pint on the way, followed up with a nice steak in the evening. This time last year we were in Jersey and were able to walk to St Aubins Fort and the lighthouse at La Corbière at low tide.

Enjoying the nice weather at the mo', it brings out a lot of old classic cars and motorbikes, saw a pristine looking Austin A40 yesterday, such a small car.

Looking forward to planning our kitchen, if we ever get the wall taken down, hopefully it'll be complete by Christmas.

Cheers all,

Kev.

Hi Kev.

Yes can’t wait for the next one to pop out. Good to see your DiL is being monitored. Spoke to our son yesterday and they really want to move house before the next baby. You may recall St Aubin and there’s very little space for parking at private houses. So they are lucky that they have  a good sized garage and 2 parking spaces outside plus one in a communal parking area. They do only have a very small garden though. But that’s typical of St Aubin.

Not heard anything from the GP about my bloods yet. But I’m getting more annoyed I’ve not heard from the heart/lung people yet. I want to know where i stand with it long term , and about travel situation. I tried to phone the specialist nurses to help but the phone number no longer works. I used to be able to email them but they stopped that method of contact. Next time we see the consultants team ill bring that up and try to get the latest number.

Degarelix injection went ok although the nurse was really concerned she’d done something wrong. She said this one seemed to go in easier so that’s a good sign. When you’ve got 14 lumps from previous injections its difficult to find a space… Very tender this morning but that’s usual so fingers crossed I don’t get the bloated belly too bad.

Was it a year ago we were in Jersey - wow. A very Happy Anniversary for yesterday, sounds like you had a good day.

I remember the Austin A40 blimey. My uncle had an Austin A30 back in the 60’s and we’d gone up to Suffolk in it from Essex. 3 adults and 2 children. It broke down and we got a lift with 2 Americans in this massive American car. It was just huge…. Could’ve got the A30 in the boot….

Cheers, take care,

Phil

Hi lads and lasses.

Looks like the spell of good weather's coming to an end. I've enjoyed soaking up the sun in the back garden. We spent a lot of time with the grandkids last week which was fun. They're away next week with their mum and dad so we'll miss them.

It's been a sporting festival on TV. I love the twenty-twenty Indian Premier League. Plus there's been some good Super League rugby and the Masters golf. It's the last day of the tournament today and I'll be watching every shot.

I hope you all have a good Easter. 👍

Late edit. Well done Rory! 2025 Masters champ and Grand slam winner.  🏆

In the middle of converting a tired old swimming pool into a koi pond or natural swimming pool - can't make our minds up which it will be yet. The weather has been amazing.

What a brilliant project!. I've got a small fish pond, only about 500 gallons. I've got a couple of ghost koi and some pond fish in it. I'd love a large koi pond. Me and my grandson, on hot days, sometimes sit on the edge of my pond and dangle our feet into the water. 🙂

😂 Sometimes when we've got  our feet in the water the fish swim up to them. They must think they're soles.

I've fallen in the pond twice and dropped and drowned a mobile phone in it.

I've just had a thought 💡. I'm sure Francji1 said that he's got a flock of sheep. He could convert his swimming pool into a sheep dip.

Hi Lisa

That's exactly what this little corner of the forum is for, so enjoy the banter! Coffee shop though?, this is our virtual pub! I guess we could allow coffee if you insist 😁.

Morning all. Not been in for a while, as was away on holiday, then caught up in all sorts of drama on the home front. Hope everyone is well.

Adrian, you could make cash out of your pond, with people getting their feet nibbled by your fish! We had a nice pond in our last place, but have never put one in since we moved, on account of the grandchildren running around the garden. Maybe when they're older I will indulge myself again.

Have a good day all.
