Hello everyone, I’m here after having a nice huge nap … Still needing them and also still got the horrible mouthe taste which is affecting my eating. But I have lost 3/4 stone….

Just watching the footie. Glad they never televised the Spurs game yesterday. Not sure I can take anymore from them 🀣🀣.. I’ll have to watch the Europa Final on Thursday but no doubt the missus will tell me to stop moaning.

Not had time to read through these last posts properly yet but Suzz, I think it’s good news that Active Surveillance is being mooted. It is a sign that hubby is not in the Gleason 9 or 10.

Take care all

Hi All,

Just back from my jolly on the Isle of Mull. A glorious week of sunshine and spectacular scenery.
I was chuffed to bits at being able to get to top of Ben More, which is a 3,000 footer. That’s one monkey shot down as I’ve not been up there for several years, having blobbed out on several visits since.  Mind you it absolutely killed me off, I was staggering 😒 more than a bit.

As for the fishing, the tides were against us I.e. out during the day. I managed only one cast 🎣 but got my spinner well and truly stuck so I gave it up as a bad job. I knew I shouldn’t have picked up that penny 😬.

As for the boozing, well I’m pleased to report that we made a serious contribution to the Tobermory bottle bank πŸ˜ƒ.

Just watched the FA cup final, nice that someone different won it. Something dodgy though about Henderson’s handball - could well have been a different decision πŸ€”.

All the best everyone, have a good weekend β˜€οΈ

Hi Spongebob.

Well done for climbing Ben More. I struggle to manage the 300 yards slight incline from the railway station to the Club. I'm glad that everything went well.

Good luck in the Europa Cup final Phil. I'm afraid as my grandson is a Man Utd fan, I'll be supporting them. Is the match only on TNT? If so I won't be watching it.

Suzz. Me and the missus are both fine thanks. I should be getting my PSA results tomorrow or Tuesday. As for the grandkids, they're both fine and as active as ever. Oliver, who only 11, is grass track racing in an old banger today. It all sounds too dangerous to me, so I won't be spectating. I'll be glad when he's back home safe and sound.

I have read that TNT Sports are broadcasting it on Discovery + for free. Also the conference League cup on following Wednesday. Not sure how you get on at the time but it is supposed to be free to view.

Hope it’s a good game with some actual quality and even some defending from Spurs. 🀷🏼.. Which would be a novelty..

Just had my afternoon nap (3 hours again) … so tired all the time. See my consultant Tuesday so we’ll ask if it’s likely the radium or could be the new Orgovyx pills. Don’t want go back to the Degarelix injections …

Hope I don’t fall asleep during the footie on Wednesday …

Hope your grandson has got through the car racing unscathed. ?? πŸ‘ is he taking it up as a sport or is this one off ? Sounds a bit dangerous but you need a bit of danger in your life as you grow up.

We used to ride an old 1950’s Ariel 350 on fields near us as a kid and it was great to be let loose on our own. Felt so fast then 🀣. I ended up buying a 1958 350 engine when I was 17 and building it up as a flat track bike with a Honda 750 seat and BSA fuel tank. Fitted a super high compression piston from an MGA and subsequently broke a con rod at 80mph…. All good fun πŸ€ͺ

Phil.

Thanks for the info on the TV viewing.

Sorry to hear that you are so tired. I had a late night last night watching the PGA championship in America. I didn't get to bed until gone 1am and was up early for a plant and garden sale this morning. I had an hour's kip this afternoon to catch up. 😳

The car, I think it's an very old Micra, failed the pre racing inspection. I haven't got a clue why. His dad and stepdad are both mechanics so they'll not be happy bunnies.😁

Anyway, it'll be another late night tonight, it's the final round of the golf.

Racing around a field on a bike must have been an exhilarating experience Phil. Something I never dared to do.

As for organised races, there must be so many regulations, spoilsports! health and safety gone mad eh 🀣

I remember watching banger racing as a kid. Years later when I took my kids, it was a memorial race for a guy killed on the track. There was a precession and they stopped to lay flowers on the grass bank. Anyway, when the first race started, I couldn't help thinking that someone was going to get killed! There were non contact races too, some very young kids driving minis flat out round the track, they were really good and must have had nerves of steel.

Cheers all.

Kev.

Hi guys.
Banger racing brings back memories. We lived not far from Rayleigh Stadium which did speedway and banger racing and then also locally was Scrambling at Hadleigh.
Some days my Dad would drop me and my little bruv at Rayleigh on his way to work. I was probably 10 yrs old. Wed watch bangers or speedway at Rayleigh then walk the couple of miles to Hadleigh to see the afternoon scrambling. Then walk/bus back home to Canvey. We had a lot more freedom then.

Hadleigh was the site for the 2012 Olympic mountain biking . We got tickets for 2 days to watch it. It was awesome.

Hi Suzz.

Kev's results came back undetectable. I hope mine will be the same. I'll post them when I get them, which should hopefully be today or tomorrow. I'm worried that the hiccup over taking my last PSA may have affected the speed of getting my results. Before, a GP would simply input the results onto their systmonline and I could access them immediately by logging into my patient record. I'm concerned that they'll now longer do this and I'll have to ring up for them or even worse they be sent to the hospital which will delay things even longer.

Ollie's car racing was cancelled. The car wasn't passed fit to race. That suited me. He's too precious to me to be bombing around risking life and limb. I'd rather he sticks to football and goalkeeping where at least he's only got two posts that he can crash into.

The affect your hubby's diagnosis is having on you is perfectly normal. I'm sure most of us and our partners, have thought f**k you cancer and have secretly shed a tear or two. You're doing fine love.

As for a pizza picnic it sounds great to me. I remember doing my grandkids, when they were Albie's age, hot dogs which, I'd kept hot in a flask. They literally thought they were magic. 😁 Plus we always take a packet of Jammie Dodgers or Oreos. We learnt that chocolate covered biscuits are FAR too messy in the hot weather.

Usually our daughter preaches to me to feed them healthy food, but what kid enjoys a raw carrot and sugar free yoghurt picnic?

Sometimes I have to bite my tongue when my kids lecture me on how to look after their kids. I get a good bollocking for risking their health by feeding them a few extra calories, yet it's okay for them to strap them in a metal box and get him to hurtle around a field at break neck speeds. Oh the irony! 😁

Hi Adrian

it’s just total nightmare waiting for results. Especially when you had good wee set up of being able to go into your records. As you say god know what they doing now. πŸ™ˆ

As for Oliver so glad it got cancelled. We do give them the goodies cos all this carrot stick nonsense is crazyyyyy. Brought 3 of them up & they all turned out fine.
Albie loves it here. His grandad gives him a wee Fredo bar & has malteezers ready for Arlo coming in from school. Also all they drink is water. Ok that is good. Arlo never ever liked anything else. Although Albie different kettle o fish. He steals drinks out my cup with straw rubs his tummy n says. Awww nice. πŸ˜‚. Diet Coke πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ. We call it bubbles cos when I pour it out he sees all the bubbles. So funny when we all together when he say nana have u got any bubbles. I say no darling bubble machine & gun is round nanas house. Then I distract him n change subject πŸ€ͺ that is kinda the way he looks at me when a say that.
Well done kev πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ so happy for you. Keep these good results coming. As for you Adrian. I know you will b same. (Still doesn’t stop the worrying).
I love all these stories about cars & travels. Some have made me belly laff. Loved the one u just told Phil when u nur bruv was wee boys.
Sneaked on because Albie is having a wee 40. πŸ’€πŸ’€
Hear from yous all later

Thanks Suzz,

My son never forgot that I wouldn't buy him a Freddo once, so a couple of years ago when he was working in Gibraltar, I posted a kilo of Freddos to him for his birthday. It cost more to post than it did to buy them but it was worth it. Our writing is very similar and his boss accused him of posting it to himself. Had a great laugh over that.

Cheers,

Kev.

Suzz, I love that typo. It's very apt considering how much booze I drink. πŸ˜‚

Kev, I also loved the Freddo caper. 😁

A few years ago,  I made the mistake of telling  my daughter of how, when I was a kid, I once pigged-out on sweet coconut mushrooms. I had so many that they made sick.  Even today,  just looking at them, makes me feel queasy.  Now, every birthday and Xmas, as a sick joke, the little minx, always gets me a huge bag full. She loves them. πŸ™‚

Twenty seven months post op PSA check : <0.02 undetectable

Plus liver function spot on.

Two great reasons to have a few beers to celebrate. 🍻

However, as usual, I shall always be thinking of others who've been less fortunate.

Hi Suzz.

Is your profile picture of Albie or Arlo? I think in your last post you tried to post pictures of them. You obviously adore them and are a fab nana. I dont think you can post photos on this forum. Which is a shame.

I seem to recall that Arlo was the name of Disney's The Good Dinosaur. But that 'Disney' matter.  πŸ™‚

My grandson loved The Good Dinosaur and I topiaried Arlo's head out of a hawthorn bush in my back garden and put two solar lights in it for eyes. If we could only post photos. 😁

Didn't get to bed until the early hours this morning. I made a very big hole in a bottle of whisky and feel slightly fragile this morning.

Luckily I've nothing planned today so I can recover, pottering around in the garden. I might give Arlo a bit of a trim, but I'll have to first check that there are no birds nesting in him.

Hi Adrian

I normally don't post here but I always read what you guys write, cheers me up!

I had may PSA on the same day as your, 0.06. I know the relief you must be feeling, even after so many years PSA tests causes me anxiety every time! Our surgery results don't include '<' which is a pity because it doesn't tell you about the accuracy of the measurements by the laboratory used. I had my surgery in a London private hospital where my results, for five years, were < 0.003. Then we moved up to West Midland where the first result came in at 0.06 which was obviously alarming, so I went to my consultant in London and the result came in at <0.003 which was obviously a relief!  I am afraid some doctors don't understand or care about this significance of '<' sign which can cause confusion and unnecessary alarm.
