Is 3 weeks enough time (after the prostatectomy) to try and have a beer?

How long have people waited before having a social alcoholic drink?

Well this has been discussed before.

I think the important thing is start with a small amount and see what happens. Also bear in mind beer, wine, spirits may all have a different affect. Probably best experiment at home rather than socially, and if all ok go down the pub and get tanked up.

I do love booze.  No-one advised me not to drink alcohol following the op.

I had 4 or 5  wee tots of whisky, the first night I was back home. I was in the pub within 4 days, having three or four pints. It didn't cause me many problems but I'm not saying it wouldn't be detrimental to others.

Beer / larger contains hops which increases prolactin -  its prolactin that cause "moobs" in men who drink alot of beer

there is a big question mark over prolactin and the prostate - studies suggest prolactin can cause  inflammation maybe even contribute to prostate  cancer and  is involved with castrate resistant prostate cancer

How do you feel about red wine ?

My husband Geoff ( yeah someone actually married me ) is now enjoying a glass of red wine every night before his evening meal
