Stomach pains

hi has anyone had an issue where after eating the stomach between the robotic operation scars are and the ribs swells  , it protrudes about an inch and and half and causes pains in my chest  ,but goes away overnight ,only to return after breakfast ,

I’m six moths feet robotic removal

I’ve tried different diets and avoiding some foods ,but still the same ,if I hug the swelling my chest hurts more so now resist doing that

also tried small portions more often but however small the portion for breakfast it returns

the doctor said nothing on ultrasound (although the tester found an area under my ribs that caused sharp pains) and that seems to be that

if no one else has had similar issues I’ll assume it’s something unrelated

thanks for reading any views on what to try  welcome

I suffer with gallbladder issues, rich creamy foods trigger my pain and I get a swelling to the right of my breast bone or sternum. I found going to sleep in a sitting up position help ease the discomfort. Of course I am not medically trained and you should continue to get medical advice. Several GPs failed to diagnose my problem, a gastro consultation suspected gallbladder problems with in minutes and an ultrasound confirmed her suspicions. Although it sounds like your doctor has done an ultrasound of the area. The girl doing my ultrasound also checked my pre RARP op CT scan, although it was seen on the CT scan it hadn't been flagged up.

Below is a quotation from a medical page.

"What triggers a gallbladder attack?

Anything in the stomach causes the gallbladder to squeeze, even a glass of water, but it squeezes harder when there is fat in the stomach. So anything greasy, fried foods, pizza, will stimulate the gallbladder even harder and make it squeeze harder."

Thanks Chris

Kev, when first diagnosed I had been back into theatre a few times with my stricture,so I declined the op and decided to manage it. M&S quiche is a killer for me. Mine is only sludge not stones. My mum didn't do well after her gall bladder was removed so I was a little bit hesitant. Pleased to hear yours was okay.

Thanks Chris

Hi, I would definitely want that to be investigated and followed up, particularly as you're experiencing the pain so frequently.

As for the gallbladder, I had gallstones years ago, attacks could be excruciatingly painful as the bile duct was obstructed by stones. I had it removed back in 1999 using keyhole surgery, and was pretty straightforward compared to my RALP surgery. Are you on a waiting list Chris, or are you managing it with diet?

Good luck.

Kev.

Hi Paul,  I also have stomach pain at 21 weeks post robotic prostatectomy. It's mainly centred around belly button and just right of this but on Saturday it went to the left hand side. Drs pushed and prodded for hernia and have done full bloods and a further bowel test and all ok. Got a CT scan booked for Wednesday evening. I've been living with it until recently but thought I'd ring and ask specialist urology nurse if it was normal but she advised any pain should have gone weeks ago.
