Somacorrect first time help

Good afternoon everyone, hope I'm posting in the correct place but need advice.

I've just received my somacorrect extra on prescription and picked it up from the chemist.

I have been suffering with ED due to treatments and my urology specialist prescribed the somacorrect as I can't take ED medication due to my heart condition.

I've unpacked it all and had my first attempt at using it, however it feels like there is no vacuum being created when attempting to use the device.

I have used it for 15 minutes yesterday and today but it doesn't feel like anything is happening regarding the vacuum. When I release the pump button there is no vacuum created at all.

My partner has tried to use it and feels no vacuum is getting created. We have tried to create a seal and feel this is correct.

If I put the device against part of my body and pump it doesn't feel like any vacuum is created.

My partner has tried this too and agreed that no vacuum can be felt.

So is this normal and I just have to keep using the device daily, could the pump be faulty?

I can get a very slight erection without the pump but nothing seems to be happening at the moment, am I being too impatient and have to keep going.

As we have no experience with this device I am hoping someone can help.

Many thanks in advance

It may be the pump is broken. Just to check ….. screw clear Perspex tube up against head unit. Make sure you are shaved in that area enough to make clean contact with the tube base black seal rings. The long handle is for hand pumping creating the vacuum. The little button is for breaking the vacuum at the end of therapy. Hope this helps.

Hi Hay66

I have some experience of using vacuum pumps as I have been using them for the past 13 years. Here are some hints:

Make sure that your pubic hair is trimmed, preferably shaved. A little lubricant at the base of the penis/pubic-area and/or at the rim of the pump should do the trick.

Make sure that the cylinder is well pushed on to the pump.

Using vacuum pumps is not easy but certainly a great device once you get used to it; requires a lot of patience and there may be some discomfort.

Once you have exchanged a few comments with others you will be able to use the private messaging feature here. If you let me have your email address I can let you have a short video I have made to show how to use the pump. I am a great advocate of vacuum pumps unlike other methods which may not suit some men.

Happy to help further if you wish, just keep pumping and you will get there.

Cheers Chris, it does feel like the pump isn't working. It's brand new out of the box, I did call imedicare and they gave me my local reps number, I have called and left a message but so far nothing.

It feels like no vacuum is created at all.

Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it. I think I need to kkow wether the pump is actually working or not as there seems to be nothing happening when I use the pump.

I'm going to wait for the imedicare rep to call, if not I'll email them direct as the pump is brand new out of the box

Hay66, pity we can't post pictures on here. Have you got The O ring between the pump and the clear tube, just tried mine without the o ring and it won't create a vacuum. With out the clear tube can you hear air being dragged in or out of the pump. It's not loud and you may need to hold it near your ear. Again without the tube on put your thumb over the little hole in the pump you should feel a slight difference in the amount of pressure required to press it compared to when you pump without your thumb over the hole.

Thanks Chris

So I've just spoken with the rep, we went through a couple of tests and it looks like the pump is faulty, he said to give imedicare a call tomorrow to get it replaced.

The pump price includes a 1-2-1 session by the rep to show you how to use it. In some areas, this has to be done before a prescription can be issued, but if it wasn't, you can ask the rep for it once you have a (working) pump. It doubles the chances of using the pump successfully.

Andrew

Yeah I had this session when the rep issued my perscription at the urology clinic.

New pump is on its way so hopefully all will be good this time.

Cheers

Just an update, received the new pump and it seems to be fine. Started my therapy so hopefully it'll help.

One question do I have to use the soma lub or can I use any water based one.

Cheers

Hi Hay66

No you don't have to use Soma lubrication - very expensive. I use KY Jelly or similar Boots product. If you have any problems with using the pump please private message me with your email address and I will send you a 'live' video showing how to use it.

Good luck.
