Given that you've called yourself Mrs Worry and you've joined and posted to the forum (welcome!) I suppose if I said 'don't worry' it wouldn't help much? But the fact is that the majority of men on here will likely reach old or. very old age with their PCa in some form even if it turns out that is what your partner has. When I was first told "there are changes to your prostate" I fully admit that it's a shock but a bit of time, research and this forum and the odd FB group calmed me significantly. So try not to worry, it may not even be PCa and even if it is there is much the Dr's can do. Good luck to you both.

Cheers Adam

Hi Mrs Worry.

We must stop meeting like this, people will start talking? 🙂

Joking apart. I doubt very much whether your husband will have a scan on the day of your first urology appointment. I suppose he may have another DRE.

I think the urologist will take your husband's medical history, and as he possibly has an infection, may be take further blood tests. He may then book him in for an MRI.

Mrs W, does the letter give any details of what might be expected. It's all changed since my diagnosis 11 years ago.

Thanks Chris

Hi

He hasn't had the letter through yet. I'm getting ahead of myself as usual 🙃

Mrs W, I was diagnosed 11 years ago and my PSA results probably indicated I had probably got cancer. My experience was that I saw a registrar and had a biopsy. I didn't read the letter until the night before and it said " you might have a biopsy".

As I say it's all changed since then, but I am still here.

Thanks Chris
