Hi Simon
Good luck with surgery ,I had mine at the end of January.
The advice I was given post op was to take things easy ,donโt overdo it ,although itโs only normally 1 night in hospital it is still a major operation.Drink plenty of water ,Start the Pelvic floor exercises as soon as they tell you that you can ,I started as soon as the catheter was removed.Donโt be a couch potato after the operation but avoid overstretching ,I found walking each day was good therapy physically and mentally. We are all different ,but the obvious post op side effects will be the incontinence and ED .I seem pretty average in terms of incontinence recovery ,dry after 6 months,The Pelvic floor exercises help, download the Squeezy app.My surgery was only minimal nerve sparing so ED is an ongoing issue but I find the Vacuum pump is my new best friend.
Use this forum to ask ongoing advice as there are some great people and really knowledgeable ๐
