MJD , welcome to the site nobody wants to join. It looks like no one has used the pump in the link. Alot, but not all get brands that are supplied through the NHS.

Are you in an area where you can't get a pump on prescription.

Thanks Chris

I got one supplied recently on perscription from my urology department whilst discussing my ongoing ED issues ( manual one not battery but i imagine the operation is the same) i alreaady have a SOMAerect from imedicare but figured that its not going to last for ever so accepted the offer of a spare.

My thoughts - it works well, easy to use and i think its a bit more "gentle" on the tackle than than the SOMAerect as it seems to vacuums a bit slower

However i have been using my SOMAerect for 5 years now and am more used to it so will carry on with it till it breaks, this isnt a negative comment just they all have a 'knack' to get the best out of them and im more used to the SOMAerect

Hi M J D

I have been using VEDs for nearly 15 years. The NHS prescribed SOMAerect iMedicare) is excellent but they don't produce the battery operated version any more which I prefer. I am using PRIMUS (German) battery-operated version and is great. The one you mention is very similar to the ones I have used but, in my opinion, the rings supplied are not as good as the ones with SOMAerect. I have a brief survey of commonly available pumps at the following link which you may find useful:

If you need further help about how to use a VED please get in touch.

Hi bardoo

Based on my experience of having used several VEDs over 15 years I have a brief review at the following link:

Well it works, quite well actually, but i feel the constriction rings could be a little better, so will have to shop around for them. :)

Hi M J D

I haven't used that particular pump but at present I use a similar pump called PRIMUS (German), battery operated, which works very well. Also I have used SOMAerect (NHS prescribed) which is excellent because it caters for different sizes of penis. Unfortunately iMedicare.co.uk which supplies it have stopped supplying the battery operated version. I have found Vacurect very difficult to use. Have a look at my brief survey on pumps at the following link:

Would love to hear anymore feedback on this pump. The one in the link looks quite compact and is the battery operated version which seems to be available in the UK. Did your NHS clinic supply this pump to you as a trial or are they prescribing it instead of the Soma now ?

I have my ED appointment early in the new year and am expecting the nurse to suggest the Soma pump - from what I've read here it seems to be the NHS go-to pump although I think they can only supply the manual version.

Has anyone managed to get a battery pump through the NHS ?

Hi Zero1

The NHS will prescribe only the SOMAerect pump (some Trusts refuse to prescribe!), non-battery version, which I was prescribed and I used for a number of years. When it failed I purchased a SOMAerect - battery operated - which I used for some years and when that one failed I could not replace it because the manufacturers (iMEDICARE.com) stopped making them. So I purchased PRIMUS, battery-operated,  which I have been using for the past five years. However the constricting rings supplied with PRIMUS are not as good as those supplied with SOMAerect. I now purchase SOMAerect rings  to use with PRIMUS. Hope this helps.

Hi MJD

I have use several different constricting rings over the years and in my opinion the SOMAerect rings which you can purchase separately from iMeDIcare.co.uk suit me best because they are quite soft but firm. I have to use two rings - a medium size and a large one - to maintain a strong erection.

yes Pratap - I too thought that the NHS only prescribed the manual Soma pump but I was intrigued by the post above from Philip Smith that mentioned he got the Active 3 (manual version) prescribed recently - if the NHS prescribed it, I was curious if this was a one-off trial and how it compared to the soma.

It also appears to be the only nhs backed pump with a battery version available to buy in the UK for those who possibly want to pay for the upgrade.

I use the vaccuerect and feel it works better than than the NHS issue Sommaerect.
