Penile injections vs vacuum erection device

Hi all,

Just need some advice from those that have used both the vacuum erection devices and penile injections.

I have just started using the pump (Somaerect).

Using it well for rehab but struggling to get it to work for sex as can't retain erection long enough. Suspect i may not be using it right.

Anyway i have an appointment with urology nurse for penile injection in a couple of weeks.

But just wanted to know from other people's experiences which they prefer and why?

Thank you

Bilmant, imo you need both, the pump to keep the penis healthy and the injections to achieve a better swelling. I did get some useful swelling using the pump. I wasted years messing about with muse and tablets. Get the injections it will help physically and mentally.

Thanks Chris

Definitely get the injections!

I only managed to use the pump for actual sex once, the rings had to be really tight to maintain a useable erection.

Other folks do have great success with the pump but I found it very intrusive and barbaric, the injections by comparison were great.

I agree.. I only used the pump for physio, but it's well worth going for injections. They worked really well and gave me a much needed boost.

Good luck,

Kev.

How does one go about getting penile injections?

How does having these help to get and maintain an erection?

Hi, Paul.

I'm not medically trained, mate, but Ive been using penile injections for the last couple of years. I use Invicorp and found it a 'life saver'

https://community.prostatecanceruk.org/posts/t29845-Hooray-for-Invicorp

As far as I'm aware Invicorp contains a couple of drugs. When injected into either of the chambers that run alongside the penis, one of drugs induces blood to flow to that area causing an erection. The other drug holds the blood there to maintain it.

I'd recommend it to anyone with ED when pills haven't worked.

I must stress, that for it to be effective, good injection technique is crucial.

I wish. The wife says I haven't made her top twenty. 😄

Joking apart. In answer to your earlier question, I was prescribed Invicorp after a visit to an ED clinic. The nurse there contacted my GP,  who prescribed it to me. You don't need to feel sexy for it to work. Which is great for those with little or low libido.

Hi Bilmant

I understand your predicament. I was in a similar situation after my prostatectomy over 15 years ago. I had nerve sparing surgery but suffer from ED and arousal climacturia (urine leakage when sexually excited and at orgasm!). We were determined to re-establish our sex life but did not know how, neither did we get any help from the medical profession, except my consultant arranged for my GP to prescribe a VED (SomaErect). We decided that I didn't want any 'chemical' or intrusive solutions, including injections or implants. So a VED was the only option. We have been using VEDs for the past fifteen years very successfully, but initially it was a great challenge, both for creating a usable erection for penetrative sex and how to incorporate them in a love making scenario.

I think it is a matter of horses for courses - Adrian56 has great success with injections and Francij 1 also but he finds finds vacuum pumps intrusive and barbaric -   I  think it is a great invention because it is a natural replacement for how a penis achieves an erection - blood is pumped into the penis when you are excited - and that is what a VED does by creating a vacuum whenever you wish. It also allows you to control the size of your erections. Of course a VED is probably the most difficult option to master.

In the autumn of our lives our intimate relationships is probably better than it would have been - without a VED - had I not had prostate cancer, not that I wish anybody that catastrophe.

If anyone wishes to opt for a VED-solution be warned that it requires a great deal of patience, perseverance and practice. Also certain amount of discomfort has to be tolerated - no pain no gain!

I have recorded a training video showing how to use a VED both for rehabilitation and for creating a strong and reliable erection lasting for 30 minutes,  with constricting rings placed at the base of the penis, suitable for penetrative sex. Some members have found my video helpful.

If you email ([email protected]) me I will be happy to send you a copy of the video which may help you.

Also the following link describes how we managed to re-establish our sex life with unexpected benefits:

My apologies to members who have read my posts before, I know I sound like a salesman for VEDs!
