Hi radar,

I had eight months of HT and then RT but no further HT after that. More than a year on with sub one PSA I asked about Testosterone replacement therapy as my level was still fairly low. I asked my consultant whether it was advisable to boost it and was told it was not. Circumstances and situations may vary but I feel it best that you run this one by your oncologist before proceeding.

I did read some time ago that TRT was being evaluated in the USA but have not researched this for many years so am not aware what conclusions have been drawn or whether this has been examined in the UK. It's quite a time since this has been discussed on this forum as far as I can remember.

I think the problem Radar is that testosterone is not good for you and many specialists would rear away from prescribing Testosterone booster in case your cancer came back at some time in the future and you sued them. All you can do is have it tested again later in the year and then ask your specialist when you next see him.

thanks lyn,i know test is not supposed to be good, but now drs and specialists are now having different thoughts on test,i have read reports where even high risk patients whos test hasnt recovered after ht and are still not feeling well were given trt with mixed results i am feeling no better from when i stopped ht 1yr ago, when i saw the urology nurse 2ks ago she said about my test still being nil she wrote it down in my reports and said to ask the main man when i see him in dec. cheers.
