I had 6 x injections of radium 223 in Bristol last year, finishing at Xmas time, and whilst it hammered my ALP and brought it back down inside the “normal” range. My PSA remained high but stable. During treatment I was also pain free and able to play golf, something I haven’t been able to do this year, and other than a bit of fatigue I remained side effect free during treatment.
However since finishing the radium treatment regime my PSA has continued to rise so over this past year I’ve had another 6 sessions of chemo, which ended in August, and as ive now exhausted all NHS options, I’m now on a course of private treatment, (Lutetium 177), had 2 of 4 injections so far, and I ll know if it’s working sometime after the 20th December when I have my next PSMA/PET/CT scan, which will be compared with my original scan from October.
Hope the Radium works for you
Keep the Faith.
