Caverject Success

Hello All

I am a very lucky happy chap!

My prostrate was successfully removed on the 1st March 2019 and my blood test last week showed a <0.01 negative psa.

I was prescribed a daily 5mg dose of sildenafil which did no good at all in helping me get an erection and i was very depressed.
Bought a vacuum pump which gave me a small erection not hard enough for intercourse but ok for masturbation and the dry orgasm was fantastic which helped a great deal, but i wanted to make love again to my wife who has tried to help me as much as possible to no avail.

I was referred to an ED clinic at The Royal Hallamshire and the nurse that helped was fantastic **Edited for privacy** who saw me to explain how Caverject injections work.

To start with i was prescribed a 20 microgram caverject injected by the nurse and told to wait in the next room with my wife and she would come back in 15 minutes to see the results. My wife and i were amazed at the result and we were tempted to try out this fantastic erection but waited till we got home and we weren't disappointed! Only problem was limping to the car and driving home with a very visible bulge in my trousers🤣

Last October i was prescribed a prescription of 8 Caverject injections, went on holiday in November and had a fantastic time thanks to the injections! I used the last one on Christmas day and have been unable to get another prescription filled because the manufactures apparently have run out of  supplies needed to make the injection.

We have not made love since Christmas day and I'm getting a little desperate and depressed.

My doctors pharmacy checks their orders daily without success,it's embarrassing ringing all the time to see if any stock has arrived but alas no!

*Edited for Legal reasons by Admin*

Thanks in anticipation to anyone that answers me in my desperate hour of need😢😢😢😢

Living Well accepted our prescription for Invicorp last week and then phoned to say they couldn't get hold of any. We took the prescription to Sainsbury's this morning and can collect it this evening.

There is a national shortage - my guess is that most of the members on here who use it have run out of supplies or are being extremely meagre with their use just in case.

You could phone the ED nurse and ask for a change of prescription to Viridal Duo, or perhaps your GP would be able to prescribe this?

You could try asking for Invicorp instead, which not being Alprostadil based, might be easier to find. You are supposed to be retrained in the ED clinic before switching though.

Whose idea was the daily 5mg dose of sildenafil?
That won't do anything. (It's for pulmonary hypertension, and needs to be given 3 times a day to maintain continuous dosing).

That sounds like, yet again, someone was trying to save money on the daily 5mg dose of Tadalafil, which is what you should be on - ask ED clinic for it. Even if it doesn't give you erections, it will help protect the penis while flaccid too. If it doesn't give you erections, ask ED clinic about trying 50mg or 100mg Sildenafil. If these PDE5 inhibitor pills work, they are preferable to the injected vasodilator drugs. They should have been more extensively tried first.

Back in the Saddle

It wasn't until you guys told me that there was an alternative to Caverject that i spoke with the pharmacist at my surgery.

She checked with her supplier and they had stocks of the Viridal starter pack, a prescription was ready for collection last Friday.

We waited until today Sunday opened a bottle of Prosecco then spent the afternoon in bed doing what comes naturally with a little help from Viridal.

So now I'm happy to say i'm truly back in the saddle YeeeeHaaaaa! once a fortnight will do for this old cowboy 🤠

J was complaining about sore hips this morning - probably down to the extended session yesterday afternoon courtesy of Invicorp 😊🤪

I was prescribed Viridol duo and got instructions over video call yesterday to inject only half of the cartridge, not much luck, slight increase in size and firmness, he suggested I try again today and inject the whole lot.  Did this about an hour and a half ago, same again but firmer and bigger though not erect,  have a painful ache now in the penis and groin.  Guessing this one is no use for me personally.

I would give it a couple more attempts (technique is everything and practice helps) and then ask to try Invicorp instead.

Thanks Lyne, I'll speak to consultant tomorrow some point see what he says, but in all honesty I'm a bit put off, 3 hours later still sore and tender even to touch.

Pain in perineal has taken me back to when had trans perineal biopsies done and then the prostatectomy.

Viridal and caverject gave me enormous pain and disappointing results. But Invicorp was a great success and zero pain

From what I've read so far on Invocorp on here and through other searches, I'll probably ask for that when I speak to the consultant.

Was still sore and tender in the early hours when I finally went to bed and that was a good four hours after the injection, not going there again.

Hi there - just picking up on this conversation (I had started another one titled 'supply of Invicorp in UK'). Pharmacy2u just cancelled my Invicorp order as they cannot obtain the drug. Not sure if I should try again in a couple of weeks time or try an alternative supplier. I have had some pain using Viridal Duo. Anyone know of an Invicorp supplier in the UK that has any stock?

Thanks, thought be different where you are, don't have it available here (I'm in Blackpool) , had put prescription in to a local Loyds they said would be a special order but called me back a few days later telling me there was manufacturer problem and they couldn't get it. Tried a few other places with no joy, even pharmacy at Preston hospital don't have it available.

Pharmacies don't usually keep Invicorp in stock due the the temperature needs; they just order it as needed. However, it all comes from the same couple of warehouses in England so if one can get it so can the others. Our pharmacy took the prescription from us in the morning, ordered it by phone and the refrigerated delivery was at 5pm. They did mention that the refrigerated delivery van yesterday morning was involved in a road accident but there must be more than 2 vans to service the north of England.

Yes I did read its kept refrigerated, I presented my prescription a week past and was called on Tuesday there and it was apparently Loyds delivery guy that said there was a problem at manufacturer end, either way have referred back to my consultant who issued the prescription, just wait see now what happens now.

Had problems since surgery and aftercare has fell far short of expectations, so all this now doesn't surprise me In the slightest.

No but hey ho,

From having to chase up on getting staples out , then getting cathter removed as info hadn't been sent to local hospital post surgery, then to a very rushed (2 minute consultation) 3 months after surgery.

Happy the surgery went well with no continence  issues and psa at less than 0.05, the rest has been a trial.

Both my consultant and gp got a lengthy complaint from me just recently, and now all this with meds....

Take cialis, that's helped with circulation, Viridol duo was a ball ache, literally, Invicorp I was hopeful for but that just doesn't seem to be going my way either...

And to think, I had no idea about prostate cancer till I had a throat problem last July that pointed to cancer and had tonsils removed  and biopsies taken, that was clear and now I end up here..... Been one thing after another....

It took my local pharmacy a month or so to get Invicorp.  Since then, no problems.  It just doesn’t seem to come through the same supply chain as other medications - I think Lyn once explained this on a different thread????

Anyway, I know my pharmacist went to a lot of effort but once the system was set up, I had no problems.  I’m even being prescribed 10 injections per month.  Don’t tell anyone though as I think there’s officially a limit
