PSA Rise from 3.75 to 4.71 in 4 months on AS

hi, I am currently on AS, GS 3+3, 23 cores, 1 detection of PC, they said it was minute. 50yo. I recently had my 1st PSA test and it has risen from 3.75 to 4.71 (maybe caused by the biopsy) after 4 months of previous blood test. Is this something to be concerned about? My consultant did previously say it can fluctuate...thanks.

I assume your consultant is aware of your raised PSA and has not raised concern in your situation at this time. It will be interesting to learn what your next PSA records, in another 4 months? If the figure rises significantly you could seek to discuss this with your consultant. It is possible that you have a UTI and you could ask your GP if a urine test could be done to help determine that you don't have a UTI, which could also be responsible for your PSA rise. It's not rare for a UTI to follow a Biopsy.

Also, have you recently had your Covid vaccine? There seem to be reports of PSA rising temporarily after vaccination & then falling back to previous level.

I have an appointment with the consultant on 1st June. I will keep you updated. I did have the vaccine AV about 8 weeks ago.
